Spyderco's Rex45 is a favorite. Golden does a really good job with it. Can't wait to try it out on a long relatively thin knife like the Chief.Gil P. wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 6:12 pmI'm starting to to like the fact I couldn't get a Shaman. If I'm being honest, my most used hard use knife is a 15 dollar utility knife from home depot.
Having a slicy knife in Rex 45 is better for me. Good for most things I'll need a knife for and has a much better steel than S30V. I've never had much luck with S30V. It dulls too quickly for me.

This is my first non stainless folder. How do you guys keep the steel around the pivot from rusting?

I took apart a native 5 and never could get it to feel as smooth as it did from the factory

Mineral oil will work, any of the knife oils will work. I have been using tuffglide just cause I had some from another purchase. Google around and search the forums, there have been threads on it. Use something food safe if you plan on cutting up your lunch with the knife.Gil P. wrote:Are there any oils you prefer?VooDooChild wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 8:34 pmJust keep it oiled. Your native 5 not being as smooth is probably lockbar screw, pivot screw, and handle screw tensions being a little off.

Mine arrived yesterday!! Dude I'm loving it! Laser hair popping sharp as well! I'm thinking about swapping the g10 off my S30V model so I'd have black scales! I like the orange but.... We'll see. Idk?
Re: Native Chief REX45 Lookout Thread

I may revisit the dye job and darken it up a bit more, want to see how it wears with a little use and carry first though.

I got it from these guys: https://www.bladeshop.hu/
It looks they don't have any now, just an S90V Native though.

Still at Knifecenter - least popular of the REX45 sprints so far?
Re: Native Chief REX45 Lookout Thread
Yes, I think the blade size and relative novelty of the design have kept the masses away from this release. It’s a great piece though and worth picking up at the asking price.
