start stuffing

Chances are folks may have noticed, but in case not, you can now purchase a meerkat, using the "buy it now" option for a meer,(luv that),$19.00. This is through the ebay dealer fruitbat. I got my knife in a startling three days!
At this price I'm gonna grab a couple more as they're sure to make great stocking stuffers at Christmas. Yikes! Only 95 days left! :spyder:

rikkitik,
Nothing against the Mercat, but have you tried some of the other Spyderco's?

Don't get me wrong. I’m not criticizing. I think I can relate. I mean one of our fellow forumites tried to get me to use my S30V native in place of the VG-10 I currently use. I figure, “why spoil myself with S30V when I am having so much fun with VG-10? Plenty of time for that later.”

BTW, good to see you again. I was begging to enjoy your occasional update on your introductory thread.

Good idea on stocking stuffers, unfortunatly for me, my liveral, leftest family and inlaws would probably frown upon giving a knife to my four year old niece :D . Sadly, even my own father can't appreciate a quality knife. He's the type who thinks target practice is a waste of ammo. :(

Thanks for the "heads-up".

Meerkat is a neat little knife, and that price would be very hard to beat. Thanks for the heads up.

It's ok...I mean,(choke ), I fully intend to someday get something noteworthy,(snivvel)...Maybe something in a nifty steel,(sob)..
Seriously, a calypso is in my future. I love several models, native, paramilitary, chinook, yojimbo but the calypso is probably the biggest spydie I'll ever own. I'm afraid I'm enamored of the little hideout type knives. I'd love to put the grab on an FRN cricket but I can't really justify that as a step up or down from a meerkitty.
I've seen some great stuff in a short time and I can see where "gotta havanother" is heading. Maybe a 4th mortgage on the pup tent?... :spyder:

Are you talking about the Calypso, or the Calypso Jr?

What about the senior?

I believe the junior. It has grey frn handles. I saw it as a "buy it now", a few weeks ago for $35.00, and I let it slip through my well-nicked digits. Prolly just as well. Might surprise myself with one on my b'day or Christmas.
Did I mention the Lil Temperance, Khalsa, tan frn endura, blue frn delica,
ti salsa...gawd! :spyder:

That wasn't to bad a deal. I think they are starting to dry up since being discontinued.

The new ones that are going to come out (hopefully soon, if you ask some people) will have a burgundy handle and the new ZDP-189 steel, and will probably sell for about twice that.

I own two of the gray ones myself, and EDC one every day. I’ll never forget the day I received my first one. As soon as I handled it, I knew I was going to buy a second. Did that within a couple days. If your into small, non-intimidating knives, then this is a good choice. I don’t think the blade is much longer than that of a SAK, if that, and the leaf shape gives it a sort of “elegance”. :spyder: designed it to be a natural extension of the hand, and it is. Known as the lightsaber of :spyder: 's

BTW, did I mention that I like this knife?

I thought ya might like it a lil but I'm intuitive like that. Lightsabre huh? Jazzy.
It'll be awhile but I know one is in my future. I 'd really love a khalsa as my one big spydie but the few I've seen come up are outta sight.
Grrrr! Dunno if I'll ever be a collector but....
The spyderco collector does not fear the whirlwind. He leaves nothing by which the whirlwind can attach itself. The whirlwind passes through him, leaving him untouched, unmoved...He then becomes the whirlwind.

Yeah, the Khalsa, due to it's discod status is slowly starting to get premimum prices. If you realy want one, your probably gonna have to shell out dead presidents.
