Frustrating, to say the least, moreso as an international customer in a different time zone.

My greatest concern here is with the abundance of bots, even if Spyderco makes 3000 or more, what is to prevent flippers and scalpers with their automated shopping bots from outhustling the ordinary customers like us?

Ultimately it would be useless even if they make thousands more if we fans who have lives, family and work can't even get a decent chance of scoring one versus all the flippers and scalpers out there.

I have had notifications on for each dealer that had a drop and I didn't get a single one. And yes I'm already seeing them on the secondary market so yea frustrating is definitely the right word I can only imagine being international.

Theres not much you can do about bots.

I have said this before. When a sprint or exclusive is announced that people really want. Everybody on the forums and social media need to talk about how we dont like it and have no interest in getting one. Maybe we could trick the flippers and the knife would be easier to come by.

You would think these dealers would have put up a captcha to combat the bots by now. But then again ni guess they don't care as long as the product is sold

This is completely true. If they would implement a CAPTCHA code before checking out this should minimize the possibility of bots purchasing the knives. Additionally Spyderco could sell future Sprint runs through their website and take the additional revenue generated by not going through dealers and put it into capital purchases like purchasing equipment materials or staff. They could limit it to one or two knives per purchase or per household to cut down on resale on the secondary market.

On the surface that seems like a good solution. And for the end user it would probably be a little better, at least initially. But in the long run it would hurt everyone. Removing retailers from the process would streamline and consolidate the distribution but it would be detrimental to the mfg/distributor/retailer relationship. I'm guilty of *****ing about how exclusives work, but I'm biased towards my own selfish interest. I hate it knowing I'm probably going to miss another knife I wanted but I do understand that it's important that the mfg/retailer support each other or we all lose.

Got one! Thanks Buddafucco! :D

OOS now!
Has anyone that bought a Shaman Z-Wear receive their shipping notification? My PO has been in order being pulled.

Mine is "being pulled" as well. Hopefully we see some movement tomorrow.

Mine has moved to "shipped" now with tracking from KW. Woohoo! :D

A small shop posted in one of the fb groups this morning that they had 14 or so for sale (sold out quickly over the phone only), bigger batches should be hitting sites soon!
