Recently picked up one of the brown manix 2s in the dlc which are available on blade hq right know, does anybody know if they are rare or not because they seem to be going for a lot on ebay :)

Congrats on your purchase. Yes the model you purchased is a distributor exclusive, which are ordered by sellers and are typically made in samaje batches and in limited runs compared to the normal models. You'll be able to learn more about yours in the little paper that comes with your knife.

Since it's a little harder to get than normal, unscrupulous people will try to resell it on the secondary market for ridiculously marked up prices. If you do this I hope someone breaks into your house and steals one sock out of every pair you own.

Hahaha, this just made my morning. I do get the vibe that this is his intention based on that post as well.

OP...this knife really isn't that rare, it's been dropped a couple times now and likely will happen again in the future. Just because people are asking for a lot for the knife, doesn't mean they'll actually get what their asking for.

This has been my favorite Manix so far. Got a couple last year during the drop. As said above it’s a distributor exclusive. They have been dropped at least twice now, and as well as they sell they will probably be done again. They make a lot more of these than the Sprint-Run models, so resale is not a good if that’s your motive. You should use the knife, Spyderco is one of the only production companies that do M390 justice with their Heat Treatment so give it a try.
