What are the flaws in the other two knives?
Not really sure, haven't noticed anything, but I don't have a great point of reference either. Only previous Spyderco I have is a mule.

I received the SpyOpera today. Can't really find anything wrong with it. IDK, there's a rectangular shaped patch on the show side scale where the Micarta is a shade darker. It didn't show up in the pic. I find it hard to believe that's what made it a second but I can't see anything else. Definitely happy with this one. It's a nice little knife. Possibly the smoothest back lock I have

Got my Para 3 in maxamet in today. Blade centering was way off to the show side but I managed to get it pretty close to centered. The blade centering picture is after I tweaked it.

Looks really good. How did you tweak it into position?

Mine came in.
The pm2 maxamet blades are just slightly warped, in opposite directions. Other than that I can't find anything. Action, lockup, detent, grinds, sharpening, blade play... all good and blemish free.
EDIT: There's a hardness test mark on one of the maxamet blades.

The siren is a little stiff and lock bar pin protrudes a little on one side... that's all.
I honestly can't find anything out of place with the pac salt except black out hardware and uncoated blade?

I must be missing something because I can't find a problem with any of them that warrants such a drastic cost reduction. Maybe why I don't make knives for sale. :)

Image

EDIT: I forgot the sticker, it's the one like Sharpguy has.

Can't find a flaw on mine. Thank you Spyderco for the sticker and bag... I've actually always wanted one of these bags lol. If they do the online sale again I am definitely on board but if they don't I still had a great experience and I am thankful. Image

^ I like that sticker!

I have one of those bags that I keep all my SNK exclusives in. A few other models too.

I'm liking all of these new sticker variations. I haven't seen either one of the stickers posted by you or Spydergirl.

Oh man, my Police has been sitting on my porch and I'm stuck at work for another 3 hours, the pics are killing me  Luxury problems for this guy. ;)

Semi-related, did everyone get random freebies? That's very cool and generous of Spyderco.

I loosened the pivot and the body screws, wedged a piece of plastic on the show side to push the blade up against the clip side and tightened everything back up. It’s not perfect but close enough to make me happy with it.

I got my first order two maxamet PM3s. I only intended to buy one but when I finally got the page to load it then had two and I didn’t dare try and adjust it. I will give one of them to a family member.

I bought them thinking the types of issues we had heard about when the were first making knives in maxamet might be what the seconds would be. I figured I was willing to risk them being really bad. They look good and I’m very happy with them. I had someone else look them over and they didn’t notice anything. I think one may have a slight warp but I have to look for it. The other I’m not sure. I would definitely buy them again. I have a couple more orders I’m expecting we will see how those look. Thank you to spyderco for the effort to put on the sale and suffer all the temper tantrums. I wasn’t able to get most of the things I was hoping for but I did want get something in maxamet to try. I also bought a couple knives that I never would have a full price so I’m look forward to trying those out too.

I have amend my post from earlier. The rectangular mark I was seeing on the show side scale is completely gone now. I'm thinking maybe it was from being in the bubble wrap bag. I just looked the whole knife over under a magnifying light. I found a little tiny micro-scratch on the blade. I thought it was spec of dust. That must be why it was rejected. I don't think I'd complain about that if I paid full price.

How about the crowned spine and liners? Is the radius even? I had heard many of SpyOpera's were very lightly blemished. Things like small scuffs on the micarta and slightly uneven radius on spine.

I looked at all that before and I just checked again. All radiused areas are even, no blems anywhere except the tiny scratch. The scratch can really only be seen if the light's just right. See the pic below

I'm very happy with this one. I can only hope the Paysan is this good but I might be pushing my luck. We'll see

Got my 2020 seconds sale today! Very new Spyderco fan. I bought blindly, purchase now research later. Very happy. The military is huge and it's my biggest folder. I'm very new to knives so please bear with me. Also I'm horrible at pictures too.

1. Ark- Don't see anything wrong until you take it in and out of the sheath. Scuffs the blade everytime.

2. Para 3 lw- Only notice light hairline scuff/scratch on blade. The Spyderco logo isn't as solid.

3. Para 3- Can't tell what's wrong. Sliced off some fingertip skin dropping the blade closed. Oops!

4. Para Military 2 Maxamet- Choil has uneven grind at the bottom. When dropping the blade I find the choil edge hits my finger tip on the lock. Might be how it was design or I'm not positioning my finger correctly. Blade is not centered, slightly warped? When I compress the pivot with my fingers the blade can slightly move so I believe I can adjust and center.

5. Military- lanyard hole cut isn't perfectly clean around the g10. One side, the camo pattern around the bottom corner may look scuffed but it's color pattern.

Hope this helps. Good luck! I look forward to see what others received. Got free swag too!

Police 4 Came yesterday. Looks like part of the blade on the show side got buffed a little longer or something? It catches the light strangely, bit the rest isn't stained or forming a patina (already oiled the blade which is noticeable in pics).

Small ding on the G10.
PXL_20201210_122952488_copy_2016x1512.jpg
Centering is a little bit to the clip-side, but adjusted it out after the pic was taken.
PXL_20201210_123258359_copy_1512x2016.jpg
And a groovy little sticker in the box as well.

Rest of the knife is flawless. Mechanically, lockup has no play vertical or horizontal, rock solid, and deployment is smooth as any other Seki kickback I have handled and used. Interested in putting it to work, as my current user in K390 is a Dragonfly, which is ever-so-slightly smaller than this bad boy.

Super happy with the deal on this one, and thankful for the Spyder-crew for giving the opportunity of the online seconds sale.

I just opened my package, I got onto the site wright at 10mt and was able to check out at 10:45mt . Got a pm2 maxamet, para3 blackout, and LW manix2. I meant to get a g10 manix, put this in the cart by mistake . Anyways I honestly cant tell anything is wrong with any of them. Maybe blade centering is a bit off on the pm2? maybe? .. Unless the pandemic is still going on next december, this is the only seconds sale I'll be able to participate in. Thanks guys, Ive always wanted these knives, just never pulled the trigger. And thanks for sending me good specimens!

This is the only thing I grabbed during the sale and the only thing I have found is an uneven grind.

Interesting that the Militaries are not newer CQI variants. I thought they implemented that change several years ago.
