If you're ever at a show with them, ask them to overlay many of their designs. You'll find that they use what works repeatedly. Sal will even just straight tell you which knives share which lines. I bet you'll like the Lava, it's another good knife from the same family of ergos. Blasphemy aside, I consider the Lava to be the true Caly Jr.

Love the Caly 3, love the 3.5 even more.
Re: Caly 3 love?
I absolutely love the caly 3. The blade length/shape, that action, the wire clip, the ergos, just an incredible design. My dream is for a comeback in K390 steel. That would just be the PERFECT edc for me. For now, I’ll keep rocking the hap 40.
Re: Caly 3 love?
It is one of my favorites. I would like to see one with CF laminate, and a steel like S35V or XHP. The CF one often rides in my pocket, but the CF is on the slick side.
Re: Caly 3 love?
Lots of cool stuff being released lately, but lots of cool stuff has been discontinued.
I wonder if we will see revival of caly 3.
UKPK is very popular. I would love UKPK with back lock/caly 3.
What do you guys think?

I’m in for both 3 and 3.5
Not a big fan of CF, so I‘ve been able to hold off on the current 3.5 in the hope we’ll see new materials sometime soon ..ish

Re: Caly 3 love?
I’ve had two iterations of the 3.5 but despite its excellence I never really carried them, preferring the 3, which I only have in SE. It was never really a conscious decision, just happened, every time.

I have two, a Superblue and a ZDP-189. I used to carry them often, but I tend to carry larger knives these days, and they have not seen any action recently.

The 3.5 is carried the most of these 2. Both have slicey blades but 3.5 is just a better size for me. You can get ZDP189 crazy sharp but it does chip pretty fast. I love how the 3.5 looks with the CF scales and beautiful lines. A true gentlemens folder

What are cutting that you see ZDP chipping fast? I've never had chipping issues with any knife, including my ZDP Caly 3.5, but I primarily cut cardboard, wood, and general EDC type thingsPaul Ardbeg wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:28 amYou can get ZDP189 crazy sharp but it does chip pretty fast.
