Did this just sell out while I was napping?

Thanks! I woke up and saw "Out of Stock" and was disappointed. This will hopefully be my first Mule. :D

Based on word of previous Mule drops I believe we will get a better heads up than just one day, but I can say that the Manix LW Rex45 showed being out of stock and the coming soon tag was removed and it was listed under locking folding knives the night before it dropped. The next morning it had been removed from the locking folding list and the coming soon tag was restored, but wonky things tend to happen as the drop approaches.

Do we know if there is a purchase limit on this one? And if so, is the limit 2?

I hope we can get two, that's what I planned on.

OH MY GOSH. Regular Production of this would be FANTASTIC!

I have bought 18 (yes I'm counting) knife blanks in the past month to practice making scales and handles, and I'd love to move up to Spy27 Mules for all of these projects. Right now my 'go to' is the Brisa Bobtail (a $30 12c27 Finnish blank). If this mule is regular production I'll buy at least ten when they drop. Heck, if the purchase quantity isn't limited, I'll probably end up buying 10 anyway (although I'll likely wait a few days after the first two so as not to contribute to flipper FOMO madness).

I'm glad glad I'm not the only one to go off the deep end making scales! Past few years I've done 30 or more just for mules and if my wife sees another box from Jantz she might kill me.

My wife is a lot more understanding. I've been making scales in my dad's shop, and my wife wants me to buy more tools so I can do them at home instead. I've been doing them with my kids as well, though, so maybe she thinks its a good family activity.

It's odd that the Spy27 mules are so cheap compared to past mules, but the folders in Spy27 are priced pretty high compared to other steels. The mule is definitely the best bargain Spy27 knife.

I always jump when I see this thread. The main reason I check the forum when I do is first and foremost to see if there is an announcement of the MT28 being available. But who knows, we may see MT31 first.

I'm proud of Tom and Larry for all their scale making.

I'm fairly new to the knife steel game... my question is MT28 vs MT31?

From what I've read, S45VN is fairly similar to S35VN with slightly lower toughness for higher corrosion resist and edge retention. It also seems SPY27 is similar to S35VN with expected slightly higher toughness and corrosion resist, but slightly lower edge retention. I know that mules are meant to be the guinea pigs for the knife community to figure out these details, but they seem similar enough that I'm not sure I want both. If anyone has seen better information on the two, please point me that direction (and thanks.)

MT28 vs MT31? i.e. SPY27 vs S45VN.

I don't think there is a "winner", it is more about sorting out the pros and cons of the different steels. They are both interesting stainless steels than promise to be relatively well balanced. For me it is all a question of which mule actually is offered for sale first.

Both, of course.

I'm in for multiples of both.

Do we know the size of the new Mule runs, or if there is a purchase limit?
