Bought two knives in the last week...

but it's been at least ten years since my last Spyderco.

A Meerkat arrived today (it's a gift for someone else though - dang it) and next week my Native III should be here.

I went with the N3 over the regular Native because:

a) it's cheaper - we have vacation coming up
b) I want to try the wire-type clip
c) supposedly VG-10 is no slouch

Now what should I do with my old Delica with the ever-so-slightly bent tip? Does it have _any_ value at all? I'm not going to carry it any longer and I'm not a collector by any means

Benson,
Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your stay. The native III should be great worker for you. I found one of the early black handled ones to be very stiff. Nothing wrong with it, just may take more 'playing' and lube to loosen it up. I do like the wire clip. As for the delica. May be great for a kid, throw it in your vehicle for emergency or give it to the gardener in your family.

Hey Benson, welcome to the forum.

The meerkat was my first. Ah, you always remember the first one.

Benson,

The old delica has still has value as it can still be used. It would be perfect for gardening or tough house/yard work. I'm sure you can find a good use for it, but if not, I can dispose of it properly for you. You may come to find that your knife works harder for you in a less than perfect state. How many people have you seen with multi-bladed slipjoints with broken tips, still being used and carried daily. As long as the lock functions and it retains an edge I see no reason to rid yourself of it. Food for thought. Cheers.
