Title: “Peace of Mind”

Forum Name: mb1

Product Name: Yojumbo

First off, thanks to the Spyderco crew for hosting this generous contest again. I am in awe of the talent displayed every single year. :spyder:

Peace is one of those things you take for granted until it’s gone. I chose this shot as a reflection of the current times. I often find myself carrying the Yojumbo when I go out in public these days. I’m a big fan of wharncliffe blades for their utility. The Yojumbo also provides some peace of mind as a backup defensive tool.

This photo was taken in Minorca(Spain). The reality is that there Is no perfect knife for all the needs. This is why I carry more than one spyderco. Amazing picture of a lovely day in the summer.

C94PBK3 UKPK Droppoint

Altough I don't have any knife restriciton where I live, I do have big love for Spyderco's SlipIts, especially for the UKPK's in all variants. My most used model is UKPK Droppoint Lightweight. By far not the rarest model, neither an eye catcher in the market nor in my hord of Spydies, but it's nearly perfect for my needs. ... ... ... hint: it would be more perfect with a tool steel :p

Model: Spyderco Salt 2 - C88SYL2

Versatile little knife I carried on a mountain trip, doesn't mind getting wet in a stream on a sunny day. Maintenance free, just put it back in your pocket and forget about it. Doesn't mind being photographed either.

Thank you.

ENDURA® 4 FRN BLUE V-TOKU2/SUS410 SPRINT RUN™ C10FBLE
PARA MILITARY™ 2 BURNT ORANGE CPM® REX® 45 SPRINT RUN™ C81GBORE2

These two trail friendly knives were born on different sides of the globe, but they were adopted together and raised as brothers. This picture represents a few of my favorite hobbies and brings me to a place of contentment.

Here is my submission for the year. Even in the summer, mornings can be chilly in Minnesota, and the toads around my house often take a few minutes to warm up before they jump off into the woods for the day. I had my Mantra 2 in my pocket and so I was able to take this photo one morning in that brief window when the toads just sedately look up at you as you walk by. To me, it looks like this guy is eyeing the Spyder for his next meal.

All year long I look for creative opportunities to capture a photo for this contest and during this past Christmas season I took a little time to do exactly that. I couldn't think of a better occasion to showcase this festive exclusive from St. Nicks Knives. In less time than it takes St. Nick himself to deliver all of his presents at midnight, this knife sold out completely so scoring one felt like a real gift. The Lil' Native is probably my favorite Spyderco model of all time and this exclusive version is really special.

Thank you, Spyderco! I enjoy participating in this thread and really appreciate that you provide us this opportunity each year. Best of luck to all who enter!

Spyderco Junction

The Junction is my go to outdoors knife; whenever I go fishing, camping, hiking, or hunting I always bring it with me. Carries comfortably and is a great slicer with a thin blade stock. I can't wait to bring the Junction on many more outdoor adventures.

Yeah I was going back and forth between two photos for a while! I wanted to submit it sooner but kept rethinking my decision. The feedback I received from the forum was a tremendous help to make the final decision.

Thanks! I know the holiday theme limits my opportunities but I had a lot of confidence in the photo. Judging by what has already been submitted, I felt I really needed to bring my "A" game. :)

Wow, tried to get through this whole thread and stumbled across some unwarranted negative and unwelcoming posts. It doesn't matter if they have one post or ten thousand, may the BEST pictures win. I hope this does not turn into yet another sheltered, clannish, echo chamber forum.

i don't think it's about that. i think it's just that people that don't contribute to the forum at all and only come here to try and gain a free knife leaves a sour taste in the mouths of some. i think that's understandable. after all, it is the "forum calendar."
the only part that really bothers me is that it seems there are at least two cases of people posting a second entry under a different name. i think that's a real shame.
but, this isn't my contest and i'm just glad to have a chance to participate. i've watched this thread for a few years now thinking i should submit a photo, but i just let it go by every year. i'm happy to go for it regardless of the outcome. :)
