What is an acceptable amount of blade play?

Childe Roland, if your "gut feeling" says that the knife has too much bladeplay send it back to W&R. :spyder: has one of the best W&R departements in the knifeworld, so "IF IT IS BROKEN THEY WILL FIX IT", if they think it's acceptable you can trust them that it is.
The reason we all love :spyder: is based on the fact that we believe that Sal makes an "honest" product, the W&R also works on the same basis, if the bladeplay is above acceptable parameters they will fix/replace the knife!

spyderco lockbacks are supposed to have some vertical play. it stops it from failing if small amounts of sand or dirt get in.

Someone please let me know if I am wrong but, wasn't there a thread somewhere in which Sal addressed this isue?
