I'm wondering if anyone knows why :spyder: uses VG10 blades for the FRN handled enduras and delicas, but AUS6 for the stainless ones?

You think AUS6 costs more than VG10?

quite the opposite, the aus6 reduces the cost while the steel handles add to cost

Right, take a look at the Police. Steel handle and VG-10, costs a lot more then a SS-Endura and its only a bit larger. Btw, I would like to see the AUS-6 replaced by VG-10. A SS-Delica would then be high on my list.

Rumors abound that the AUS-6 in the SS Endura and Delica will be replaced since the Byrd models are out now to offer a lower cost solution. As I said, strictly a rumor I remember reading something about some time ago.

I think so too, but I couldn't remember correctly and didn't want to say it if I wasn't sure.

The SS Delica and Endura is to be updated to VG-10. The price seems like will remain the same.
