As I said in the other thread, what Elmax has over other steels is a cooler name. You gotta admit a Elmax just has a cool sound to it.
Elmax sounds like the name of a prison that Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery might try to infiltrate and escape from...

I have two Italian made knives in Elmax, and I think it's a fantastic steel! But I also think what kills it is the dramatic price increase. Not only is M390 slightly better, but you can also find it on much more budget friendly knives. Looking at BHQ M390 starts at only $99!! Basically M390 has also won in the availability game.

I think it sounds more like like something you’d find in a flea market...

Ima trademark the name "TyrannoUltraBoneKilla" and it'll be something like an alloy of tantalum and plutonium or whatever lol

I'm really surprised a steel company hasn't tried to buy the rights to "adamantium" from Marvel yet.
Terrain 365 has something close called Terravantium™.

Yeah, m390 starts at $99 - but what's the point of mfgs just leave it under 60hrc?

Elmax superclean would be a name that sells thousands :D

Of the Spydercos in M390 I've seen tested, all were 60-62 hrc. Many other brands have been tested and found to be 57-59 on average.
