Spyderco - I feel troubled.
Aloha hardkiss: Yeah, it's "just a name"... that Sal busted HIS @$$ for!
To choose it on a whim...I dunno, it ain't right. I don't think that "spyderco" meant any harm, but...c'mon.
I'll say it again, WTF is happening to this place?
God bless

Greetings everyone
Spyderco, welcome to our forums. Everyone is welcome here in the discussion of Spyderco knives. I would ask you a favor in that your user name has actually been creating confusion here at the home office from forumites and customers. We appreciate you altering it. We received several messages today from people thinking that you are the company or a representative of our company.
It is our intention to make these forums as open and friendly as possible. We've rarely place parameters on anyone's user name or posts and hesitate to do so unless it generates confusion (as in this case) or contains profanity. It is creating miscommunication so thank you for changing it.
Again welcome to the forums. We look forward to the knife insight and conversation you contribute to our home here.

And Spyderco, I didn't mention it in my prior post, but my feelings are you are very much welcome here in this forum. I think the language issue could be why you lash out at people for really small things. But I'll tell you this, if people judge your posts as nasty and combative.....you could be gone sometime down the road.

Hello everyone and thanbks to the administrator for the welcome.
I would like to change my nickname from: Spyderco
To: spydercolchester please :)
I dont mind at all
What I mind is somepeople using my nick to settle scores or accuse me of being distastful or having no ethics. That is unacceptable. I choose the nick in a second when i couldnt think of a nick name for the regestration and thought I was a bit lucky to have got it.

I also posted the same question, especially since you explained that you didn't even own a Spyderco-knife. If i would make myself a member of the Benchmade forum i would never choose "benchmade" as my nick. It has to do with respect, you can have a nick with "Spyderco" in, but taking the company name as your nick is a little "over the top"
I call myself Buddha-boy, i would never dream of calling myself "Buddha" just like FoM never would call himself "jezus" or "God". It's all about respect!

Short sighted today, just read your previous post. It'll be done ASAP.

First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

As suspected this chap is colchester who also joined britishblades a short time ago and caused a terrible stir over there.
I really can't remember the last time I had so many members e-mailing me asking for a member to be banned.
However, after careful consideration of the situation, I have concluded that what we have here is a person from a totally different culture, with fairly poor English and an almost non existant understanding of forum or net politeness rules.
Please don't condem a person for a lack of understanding. When he asks a question, answer it please!
I think colchester has the potential to be a good poster with an interesting perspective that is greatly different from our own (western) point of view.
I would say give him a chance to develop and I would also say to colchester that you need to avoid fights my friend, when regular members and long time posters are all getting up in arms with you, you must understand they are not often doing this just to be idiots. When you did what you did and acted like you did, you upset a lot of people and I know you understand this now. I have respect for your desire to put this right so lets move on!
Decon, can you let this go as a simple mistake from a new member?
Colchester, don't get angry or confrontational so fast!
My 2 cents

Yeah, something weird is going onDAYWALKER wrote:I'll say it again, WTF is happening to this place?

That's why the other day I started the flashlight poll to try to change the tone and bad feelings and get peoples minds on something else.
BUT, because it was "Off Topic" it just irritated a couple of people
So yes, what's going on
Those in the know use Spyderco.
Aloha mr. crahen,

I second what DAYWALKER said. It was a nice try. It almost seemed like a tinderbox effect where; once the spark was ignited, the whole house seemed to go up. The General did have some good points that brought things down to earth.

I wasn't irritated at all. I just expressed my opinion that off-topic posts belong in the off-topic forum.
In some other forums, I've seen really over-the-top responses to a post in the wrong place or if you post in the forum with a proper introduction - in the proper place of course.

Thanks Jur. It was annoying. I have not enjoyed this forum nearly as much in the last few weeks as when I first joined. Too much bad ju-ju. The same negative vibe over and over again. The core of wisdom and knowledge is still here but too diluted by one or two who just like the sound of their own voices. Ugh!
I just try to avoid those threads but he-they pop up everywhere.
