The seki City wonky text era has begun. Years from now we will all reminisce and search high and low to relive the glory of the wonky text.

Yeah how long will it be before they become highly sought after collector's pieces? :p :D

So: Bad luck, that my latest Seki-knife, the Endela, just has the boring, perfect edging... :p :p

Yeah sorry Wartstein, you missed out. :D

Be sure, I'll get another wonky-edging-chance: The Endela is not the last Seki knife I'll get (not even the last ENDELA I guess...)... :D

Terrible luck friend. You might want to send it back and order from a different different vendor. Maybe call ahead and ask them to open the box and make sure yours will have wonky text.

I am sure Spyderco will refund my money, (but let me keep the knife... :D ) when I can prove that the blade is missing the WONKY SEKI EDGING!! :p :D

I haven’t run into this on any of my Seki knives yet. I’ve got a Vtoku Stretch on the way though so will be interesting to see if it has it.
Lucky it’s too small to see unless l’m really looking, it might bother me.

So should I put my zdp Delica in the safe??? :D If anyone wants to snag one, I know there's at least one returned one floating around in Amazon land!

Btw, thanks Accutron for putting together the picture collage - they truly are all identical, so I agree, it can't just be about the steel type. Wonder if there's one rogue misaligned etching machine over there... ;)

I ended up with 2 V Toku Delicas and only one of them has the strange font.
Both were bought at reputable dealers so I am not concerned with the fake issue.

I kinda like the look of the odd lettering.

After thinking about it some more, I believe that it is an ANTI-counterfeiting measure. It looks like the engraving was done by a human, freehand at a larger size, then reduced to the size on the blade. It would be impossible to duplicate because the final size is so small any kind of copying would reproduce more smooth without the divots. Also note that to the naked eye the printing looks normal at first glance. It takes magnification to see the irregularities in the curved letters.
