I like frame locks, but not liner locks. Frame locks can have a textured show side scale for grip, while the lock side scale stays smooth so it doesn't shred pockets when clipped to them. Frame locks also have a much thicker lock bar face, which gives more material to wear for durability, and a greater margin of error for lock fitting. Finally, frame locks are typically liner less on the show side scale, so even if the lock side scale is steel rather than Ti there's no liner for moisture to get trapped behind and cause corrosion. That issue can be overcome on liner locks by using Ti liners, but that takes us back to the lock face wear issue. I like that both are flow through, which minimizes the need to disassemble for cleaning.

I'd like to see more compression locks with the lock integral to the frame / scale like the original A.T.R. That would let me get a compression lock with all the frame lock advantages I listed above.

CBBL. It doesn’t get the credit it deserves. I would love to see more designs with it.
It's a great lock, but the design has two flaws: 1) the need of the solid piece of steel above to hold the ball in place from popping out of the top of the knife doesn't allow for flow through construction. 2) The overall design of the lock makes the disassembly-reassembly procedure extremely difficult / tedious. Those are the reasons I don't have a CBBL folder.

I own more liner locks than other types. I do not own a Comp Lock, yet. :)
I had a 15 minute play with a Yojimbo with a Comp lock, and I loved it.

I have two folder designs in progress, and the Comp Lock is my first choice. Just need to get the measurements right, and I will be a happy man.
