Police 4 (K390) HRC?
Police 4 (K390) HRC?
Does anyone have numbers on the HRC of the Police 4?
I just got mine (I used the last eBay 20% coupon) and I've decided to carry it exclusively for a couple weeks to try it out.
Initial impression is "dang, this thing is big". :)

Congrats on your new Police 4! Don't know about the HRC, I take that back according to Knife Informer M390 hardens to 60-62 HRC. I've been carring mine for several months now and at first I thought it was BIG too. I soon relized that it takes up less pocket space than many of my smaller knives. Added a Casey Lynch clip and it disappears in my pocket. :)

It runs a bit harder, 63-65ish
Unknown what Spyderco chose

Woo! Nice!
Sharpens like a dream too,
not brittle at the edge either.
Thanks Sal

That's what made me want one, too. The urban K390 is great, and I wanted more spyderco K390 in my life. :)Spider bite wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 4:29 pmI want one of these. I am really liking the k390 in my urban.

Wonderful knife and steel pairing. Love the Urban too! Now just need a mediumish blade to fill out the family. PM2? Or maybe a Caly or Native? Frankly I'd love an Endura or Stretch in k390 ground thin. Would be an ultimate light tough EDC.

The Police4 may be my most high performance Spydie. With 4.5 inches of 3mm K390 packed into a svelte package it carries great, cuts like a demon and stays sharp a long time.
It is like a formula one car in that it’s power to weight ratio is unrivaled.

I'm looking forward to the FRN model in K390.

Re: Police 4 (K390) HRC?
I got to see and handle the lw police prototype at Blade and was very impressed. That frn handle and thin blade stock makes for a very slim and light package despite the overall size of the police 4. I can’t remember for sure but I think it also had a new bi directional pattern?
I also think that the police 4 is a MUCH more refined design than the police 3. The blade show was my first chance to handle one and I was very impressed!

I swapped my carry location today (I usually carry my knife clipped to a cargo pocket, and switched the P4 up to my right front "normal" pocket) and found that carrying was much easier that way.
I think I'll try a low ride clip next.
