Looking forward to seeing how these perform. The composition (just like HAP40) is the same as M4 but with a bucket full of cobalt added. I have found that HAP40 doesn’t behave like M4 and wonder how Rex45 will behave, more like M4 or more like HAP40? Somewhere in between? I have often wondered if it was the cobalt that made the difference or just a different heat treat protocol.

The Millie is the one I want. I am disappointed that there is no Manix 2, however.

Super excited for this release; couldn't make up my mind whether I wanted the Para 3 or PM2 so I just ordered both.

Pre ordered the Para3. They had me at unclad, orange isn't my favorite color, but the burnt orange from the seki models really grew on me, i think I'll like it in G-10.

This is a nice surprise for me and it's right up my alley with steel and models. The Millie and Para and Natives are my favorites along with the Endura and Stretch. I still regret getting rid of my M4 Millie. Performance wise this should be pretty close. I like the way the HAP 40 knives sharpen so I'm guessing I will like these too.

I'm still waiting for a Manix back lock in a good tool steel for my Manix bonding experience.

The Manix 2 Back Lock would be the perfect platform for this steel.

Pre-ordered a PM2, thanks for the heads up!

How similar will this steel be to my cruwear PM2?

Ive been researching around and I hear its a less stainless than M4 so it'll be a lot less stainless than cruwear.

Easier to sharpen than M4 so im guessing it might be a around the same level as cruwear if not a little bit harder.

Takes a VERY keen edge, from what Ive heard even sharper than M4. and M4 gets sharper than cruwear.

Wear resistance: one test shows hap 40 has better wear resistance than m4, another test shows it doesn't. So im unsure.

I can't comment on toughness but its said to be "Exceptional"

Apologies for my lack of knowledge, I just started researching it today and here I am up at 5 am trying to find more info haha, I just know if its anything like a "non stainless cruwear with M4 Wear resistance" then ill be in for a couple for sure.

Anyone know how many of these are being made? It might just be my first pm3.

Oh yeah, the prices are really nice, too! If the Para3 Maxamet won't return during the time this Rex45 version arrives, I will probably jump on this one. As long as it won't already be sold out through pre-orders...

I’m hearing you on the colour D but at least it’s not black. :p

I dilly dallied with the M4 and missed out by no more than a day. My HAP40 Delica is a little special and I don’t have any rusty Millies so this one’s a must have. :)
