spyderench???? need help!!!

i just acquired the the spyderench and i have a concern..at it's pivot point (on the knife part of it) it seems like there are some metal flakes chipping off..should i use lubrication?? what to do to prevent that..help!!!!!!!!!

Never seen that on any of mine...I'd lube it for sure and see what happens.
