Carabiner clip
First greetings all, I've been browsing the forums for awhile but never got around to registering.
So I've been debating a snapit dispite reading it's not the most lefty friendly. This got me wondering if spyderco or any manufacturer has tried to make a carabiner that could mount in place of a pocket clip?
The (crude) drawing is my attempt at showing what I mean.

Leatherman made a few knives with integrated carabiners. No experience with them though.
Re: Carabiner clip
I like this idea! Would be particularly useful on Salt knives in general! :spyder:

Yep, I was going to say the little Leatherman Skeletool with the integrated carabiner is pretty cool, actually. I carry mine fairly often. For small knives / tools, carabiners can be very handy to clip to a backpack, etc, so they're quickly accessible but won't easily fall off.Germinalphrase wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 1:15 pmLeatherman made a few knives with integrated carabiners. Re: Carabiner clip
I like the idea of spyderco making them and selling them as accessories. I would much prefer to have my work blade dangling than always having to reach into my pocket..

I like that feature on my Leatherman
Re: Carabiner clip
They made one years ago. I have had mine clipped to my backpack for many years.
Re: Carabiner clip
Hello! In search of the name of this little carabiner knife that I bought a few days ago, I came upon this forum. Can someone tell me what model of Spyderco knife this is? Shown with a TWSBI Eco fountain pen for size comparison. I like it with a clip because I can clip it to the key fob or the bag handle or D-ring for easy access.
Someone told me it could be a fake. I bought it in a department store in Philippines.

There's no hole in the blade I see, likely a fake.

LOL, thumbstud Spyderco? **** froze over or it's a fake.
To the OP's question/design, I would say it needs to be hinged in some way. I don't carabiner anything to me but I've seen people do that with their keys. Not a terrible idea.

Re: Carabiner clip
I would absolutely buy this. I this idea would make my work outside around my house and in my garden a little easier. I lost a stretch with brown g10 handles in the woods one evening field dressing a whitetail. If I would have had this I would still have the knife.
Wanted: M4 PM 2 or manix M4.

Re: Carabiner clip
YES this is a phenomenally great idea! Hope someone makes one so I don’t have to make my own. As someone previously suggested making it as a Backspacer would be a viable option as well.
