Re: Smaller Police4 Sal ?

More than a size change, I would still like a Police 4 SE

I just love the blade/handle ratio of the Rookie.
A refresh would be welcome- though there's a part of me that felt it was too thin a handle for such a thick blade stock. Liners and thinner (k390?), slicey blade and we're set!

I like smaller knives, and 3" and under is legal most places. There's a few cities here that have ordinances regarding pocket knives over 3 inches. Why a three inch instead of three and a half inch?
Very good point, thank you for explaining that. I would like to see one also.
I forget if you mentioned it but do you prefer that blade shape in a fully serrated edge, or a plain edge, or a combo edge?
I once read a post from a long-time Spyderco collector that a well-sharpened Police folder with the full-serrated edge and the plain edge is one of the sharpest knives the person ever used. I can definitely see that being true because the profile of that blade is made for slicing well.
Re: Smaller Police4 Sal ?
That's a good question. My instict is to say PE, but my tastes have expanded lately. I wouldn't mind full SE. Or a serration forward combo edge like Evil D has suggested a few times.SpyderEdgeForever wrote: ↑Sun Apr 08, 2018 6:53 pm......

The next question: The handle material: If they were make a new Police with the 3 inch blade, would you prefer a G10 or FRN grip? They might try it in G10 first, as they do with some early-on new knife models, and then if it becomes popular, make FRN handles later.
Re: Smaller Police4 Sal ?
I believe Sal just said a 3 in. blade would no longer be a Police because its design will not scale.SpyderEdgeForever wrote: ↑Sun Apr 08, 2018 7:48 pmThe next question: The handle material: If they were make a new Police with the 3 inch blade, would you prefer a G10 or FRN grip?
