Looks like the CF scales are a bit different, compare to the 52100 model. Can someone who has both confirm? Maybe it is just lighting.

This could also push me to get a 52100

The one from the first release (which is the one in the picture) had identical CF to the 52100 model, which I also have. I'd be very surprised if it was any different. The Golden peel-ply CF has been pretty consistent (and expensive).

^^Thanks.

If it was different it may have pushed my over tr edge. The new BHQ one puts me at 5 PM2s. I ‘think’ I’m officially done?

I just wish someone would do a Sliverax or Shaman. There are enough Para 2 variants to last into the next millennia.

I Really like this more than the BHQ offerings, but man is it spendy, considering I got a s90v Ti/CF Millie for less.

Yep, this. Although I shudder to think what the price would be on the Shaman in these specs...

I'd expect the price difference to be about the same for the most part, CF would definitely blow the price up since the scales are so thick but I'd be totally ok with BHQ's jade/M4 combo. Heck I'm fine with any color G10 if I can just get a Shaman or Sliverax in M4.

Just curious, how much difference is there between 52100 and m4? Would you notice a difference?

I would be happy with that as well, as would many people here I bet. Hopefully BHQ lurks this forum...I'm guessing they do.

C'mon guys!

My understanding is that 52100 is much more prone to corrosion than M4. I don't think the performance is that far off between them, but the potential for corrosion kind of puts me off a bit. I've heard that even with a patina the 52100 can still pick up rust if you're not super careful.

During a couple days of rain a few weeks ago, I noticed some rust on the spine of my M4 Para 2 CF.

Wiped right off, but it was the start of rust.
Glad I looked it over before putting it away.

Sunny days, running under water, compressed air, Corrosion x, zero rust.

Does the peel ply carbon fiber eventually smooth out like G-10 does? Wondering if it's gonna shred my jeans for a long time or not.

Yean, the PPCF/M4 and PPCF/52100 are two of my favorite combos, but I want to see it on some other models. Native 5, Para 3, Lil Native, and Shaman please! Manix and Millie too...but after the first four mentioned as they are light in the sprint department for these steels.
