Blade Magazine knife show Spyderco name tag

#1

Post by sal »

I was thinking about making a "screen name" name tag for the Blade magazine show. My thought are listed below, but I'm open.

A stainless bug about 1" in diameter with your screen name engraved in bold. On a cord to be worn around the neck during the show? Maybe with a date?

This has come up briefly but I didn't follow up. So now I'm following up. We have to begin now if it's going to happen.

Anyone interested and going to the show?

I would also be most interested in something similar to the Amsterdam plaques! I don't have the finances to attend blade show, unfortunately, but i'd pay a reasonable sum for a "badge"
It would also be very nice to have in Amsterdam to identify fellow forumers/attendees.

Sal, I’m yet another person not going to the show but I’d pay for one as well. Great idea. I think I remember you mentioning this to me last year f the Oregon knife show. I’d wear it to that one next time.

Generally, that’s a cool idea. I would certainly like to have one. It would be like the T shirt: “DD-214 Alumnus”. Some will get it, others won’t. I can not make the Blade Show but I would be up for a Spyderco name tag.

Hmmm... I was thinking of wearing it on a chain, but that one would likely be too large.

This will be the fourth year that I try to make it to blade show. Sadly I live 2,000 miles away and haven't made it yet. I really hope to make it this year. I would love a Spyderco bug with my username on it either way.

I've not missed a BLADE show since it moved to Atlanta so I'm definitely interested.

I think it’s a great idea. I like the idea of being able to spot a fellow forumite at the show so personally I would like the bug (and the print) to be large enough to see on someone from a few paces.

I won't be there but it's a neat idea.

For work I run a 6kw CNC laser machine which can cut up to 1" thick mild steel. We can also do engraving with it. We've done a lot of badges/commemorative key chain type things like this, usually out of 14 or 16ga. stainless.
