It doesn''t have to be a Japanese steel. It was made in Taiwan and we ship the steel.

sal
Still would be great to have Super Blue or Hap40 as the steel, even if it's not necessary that it be a Japanese steel.

Did the idea of a Lil Chokwe put any jam in your jelly roll??
It would be all new tooling. Couldn't be a Sprint, have to be regular production.

sal
Could it possibly be a Flash Batch (like the Lil' Nilakka was)?

Sal, would an Exclusive rule out the possibility of an official Sprint run? Or could they theoretically happen both?
Both could happen, but not at the same time.

Wow never new about this model until I saw this thread. What an awesome looking knife. Only thing I would like changed is the handle color to something other than black. Either way hope this comes back

This is another model I passed on as a "user" because they only made it in S30V. However I would jump on one immediately with S90V or S110V. Also this is one folder I would even love to see in XHP or M390 as well. But please a new blade steel this next go around? Or is that too much to ask at this point?

I would even like one as a "user" in VG-10 if that would make it more likely to come to fruition.

-Steel lockbar insert/ over travel stop
-Stainless blade. Anything north of vg-10.

Im over framelocks but if these conditions were met, I would 100% be in.

Actually, I've been working on a smaller Chockwe that could be more of an EDC. 3" - 3.5" blade. Maybe a different lock?

A 3" would be just about perfect. A back lock could be nice but it might ruin the clean lines. Would a BBL lock work?

I'd like a compression lock if that would work! I think I need to track down an original chokwe as well.

Splendid!
A junior version would be great as a user, and more broadly compliant with carry restrictions.

But please don't change the lock. Sleek, simple, and sturdy, and preserves the Chokwe lineage.

(an Exclusive/Sprint PLUS a Junior would be best!!)

Folks would clamor for an 'upgraded" steel--many choices would be good; M390/CTS-204p, CruWear, XHP, S90V etc. Please, something at least semi-stainless. One of my Chokwes has had lots of kitchen/camp/cookout use, not always with prompt nor thorough tending. Its S30V shows plenty of wabi.

Forest green G10 scales. Teal green. or maybe red like the DLT P2.

Hunch says the possible exclusive may be a possible M4/Jade G10.
(avoid HAP40 on this long thin blade due to previously expressed concerns re: HAP40 warping?)
If the Exclusive comes to fruition, choose a good alternate/complementary combo for the Chokwe Jr.

Here's a pic just for size comparison for folks.
--Top is C11SAF, gen 1 Delica with G-2 SE black blade--fatclip
--next is C45S Rescue Jr SS, for JDS, then the Chokwe and BHQ Lum Tanto

I'm not sure if this would work for a sprint run, but if a normal production "Lil chokwe" is made, maybe have some of the proceeds go to a local cause like the original? :)

I have about 30 + Spydercos and the Chokwe always ends up in my pocket after a while. I would love an improved version of this knife!

Yep, my collection has a ruthlessly high turnover but I've never even considered selling my Chokwe. Probably my favorite overall blade shape, and the handle has shockingly good ergonomics (despite looking like a doorstop). I'd love to see a new production run or sprint variant, and would definitely buy a mini version as well.

I too love the Chokwe, bought an aftermarket scale for it which looks great and perhaps gives a bit better grip but ended up taking it off and going back to the stock design. Love this model, probably not interested in a shorter version.....would buy current size with other good steel and over travel stop :D

The one thing I would change about the Chokwe is giving it a stronger detent. My occasionally opens in pocket, so I ended up flipping the pocket clip for tip down carry (usually I carry for tip up).

I agree, needs a back lock
