The Lil Native is tougher than a Dfly, and the Urban doesn't lock. I could make a case the Urban isn't needed in the US anyway. Best way to analogize is the Dfly is to the FFG Delica what the Lil Native is to the Native 5. Same but different enough to merit both concepts. It's cool though, different strokes and all that
Dfly2 is not a Lil'Delica.Wrong analogy, but I would be a happy camper if they decide to release a 3 incher Dfly2.

Love the Lil’ Native. Perfect office blade.

CQI suggestions: 1. Shorten the finger choil tab so that it does not hit the finger when closing the knife, 2. Add jimping to the choil and spine.

Requests: Give me one in LC200N and Sage 5 like CF.

Elena,

My reply sounded rude, hope you didn't take it that way. One of the things I love about this place is no rudeness

Not a fan of the comp lock and my Urban K390, Chaparral CF\FRN, and DF2 handle my small Spydie needs. But hope springs eternal that one day we'll see a LW Native 5 with a deep carry wire clip.

It's filled in on most all their other designs...lil native, native, chap, caly jr, urban, etc. makes a big difference for my grip at least. Ended up giving my Dragonfly to a family member for opening mail and boxes, so it's getting some love.
I respect your big hands, but what gives the dragonfly advantage over the Lilnative is thumb ramp. Finger choil + thumb ramp lock a knife in. Its why the lilnative is being compared in the first place.

I have to agree -- it took some adjusting for me to accept the Native 5 -- anything smaller than about a 3 inch blade just doesn't seem like a knife. And on top of that I need something to grab onto. The Native 5 is definitely growing on me.

I do like certain features of the lil native. The compression lock and wire clip are both appealing, but I'll stick with the Native 5 - the back lock is growing on me and they did it right in the Native 5.

I handled one a couple weeks ago and I just found it too small for a compression lock. The Para 3 is right about at the limit that my gangly tentacle-like fingers can comfortably operate (possibly beyond it), and the Lil' Native just didn't feel right. I'm not sure what about it I found uncomfortable. Is it thinner than a Para 3? Is the handle shorter? I'm not sure exactly, but for a compression lock, I find I have a limit to how small the knife can be and still have me smoothly operate the lock. Put it in a Military, though... :D

Just wanted to provide an update after daily carry of this knife since last week of December 2017... initially I found the nub hitting my finger annoying but adjusted the pivot and where I place my finger to avoid the thwack of doom. this knife is the perfect size and weight for my daily office carry. I love the wire clip. I love that it doesn't have a lanyard hole. the compression lock is great for closing the knife quickly and quietly which is somewhat essential in an office environment like mine. this knife and the chap lw are in my opinion the best office carry knives spyderco has made to date

I got one for a friend who wanted to get a Spyderco. I thought it would be small and unassuming enough that he could carry it in his business suit. It showed up on my doorstep because I wanted to do my own quality control. When I took it out of the packaging, I immediately ordered another one for myself. It's a very nice little knife. I had never really considered the full sized Native, but the Lil Native is a burly little folder. Small and light, but stout. I really like the compression lock and the blade finish is something I hadn't seen from Spyderco before, almost like a soft-touch phone case. Really smooth and uniform finish and made in Colorado as a lil bonus. Even with extra large hands the thing is comfortable and the handle just nestles right into position.

I keep wondering which lucky company will be the first to commission an exclusive run of these awesome little knives?

I carry the Lil' Native a lot when I want a nice knife design, but don't want to carry something bigger. The Dragonfly is cool because it's even lighter and feels more secure, so I still carry the ZDP-189/FRN model. Would like to see the Lil' Native get jimping in the choil and on the spine. I would like to see S110V & Maxamet just to complement other knives, but the S30V is fine.

Lil knife with thick blade and peel-ply G10. I will pass. Make it with 2.5 mm or even better with 2 mm thick blade and I will start to think about it.

Hopefully we will see BHQ do a run in the Jade M4, hopefully with both options of satin and DLC!!

Id like to see the DLT trading Red/M390 combo as well. DLC option as well would look awesome with the red. Especially with black hardware.

And a Cruwear sprint I hope to see soon! DLC as an option for the Cruwear would be fantastic.

Some paracord with 4-5 snakeknots tied real close to the handle addresses that issue, and quite nicely I might add... My DF2's feel very comfortable in hand with the addition of the paracord and associated snakeknots... Highly recommend it, because the DF2 is an excellent Spyderco model - one of my favorites...

I feel like I say this for every model. Haha. The Red/M390 and Jade/M4 should really be standard production across the whole Spyderco line, with DLC options for both. The way they made the "family" of Blurple/S110V. I own every one of those models and I will continue to buy every one that comes out. It really is too bad that the Native/Lil Native/Shaman get no love in those exclusive runs. I hope they are in the near future!

I think that it is too early to say this. Shaman and Lil Native just came out. Native5 had sprints/exclusive and variants probably more than any other Spyderco. In a worst case it is second after para2. I cannot recall any other spydie, which had production (not sprints) with three different scale materials: g10, frn and ti.
