Very nice selections! You're doing it right! Slow down? Hehe.. Where's the Manix? Get that Caly3 sprint before it's gone. Techno looks nice right? How about that slim Sage2? I’ve enjoyed exploring the different models and steels out there, but expect to slow down for the time-being. Feeling good about my choices thus far, and hope I can do these steels justice with the Sharpmaker.
Always appreciate the passion and enthusiasm of the forum threads. I’ve been a long-time enthusiast of Oakley eyewear, so have some experience with how easy it is to get carried away with a hobby like this. But for now, here is where 3 weeks of purchases have left me:

I'm still really tempted to order one of these and this pic might just push me over the edge. Is that the real world color of the blue titanium? The blue looks more subdued in other pics I've seen.abbazaba wrote:Technically my first knife of 2018 was a BK7, but my first Spydie is this beautiful PITS. Lighter and a little smaller than I imagined, but the ergos are incredible. This knife looks, feels, and handles like a dream. Very thin behind the edge, and the "lock" inspires a different kind of confidence. Overall this is a must have at the closeout price IMO.
It's metallic, so it varies. On average it looks more subdued, but an overcast day with a dark background really made it pop. Being anodized they might all be a little different.Sharp Guy wrote:I'm still really tempted to order one of these and this pic might just push me over the edge. Just keeping it clean works pretty well for me. Some people leave a light coat I'd oil or Vaseline on the blade to protect it from staining.xxbioxx wrote:Hello. I bought my first knife in 2018. It’s mantra. Anybody can help me how can I protect the m4 blade? Thank you

I’m very excited for 2018, my first Spyderco knife purchase is definitely going to be the Techno 2, followed by the Rhino.
After that it’s gets a bit murky, undecided between Smock, Sliverax, Mantra 3, Brouwer, or Paysan.
Definitely going to have to sell some of the collection to fund this year.
