440 stainless on Starmate?

Why is this steel used? I thought that this was inferior to ats-34, ats-55, and VG-10!

Less expensive knives have the better steel!

b,
the Starmates have a premium steel blade made of CPM-440V(holds a great edge), not to be confused with a garden variety 440 stainless.

Bas,

Follow the Edge-U-Cation link up above where you'll find a steel chart showing the difference in composition between 440A-B-C and CPM440V. Also cut and paste this link to find out more about crucible steels http://www.crucibleservice.com/. BTW Spyderco was the first production knife manufacturer to use CPM440V.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.
