Congratulations! What is it going to be, a Ladybug or a Manbug?

Congratulations! Is this your first? Don't listen to what anyone tells you, Parenthood is RAD! Yeah it's a lot of stress and it's challenging sometimes and you give up some things but you gain so much in return. Being a parent has honestly made me a better person.

My advice (whether it's your first or not), do anything and everything you can to make and save memories along the way. Start an email for him and write him letters every time something new happens then when he turns 18 give him the password to it. Take zillions of pictures and keep them backed up somewhere (I've lost so many to failed hard drives).

This... backup your backup drive. I save photos as if they were platinum.

Yes this is my first, thanks for the advice on backing up the pictures. strange how our own childhood pictures take up boxes and boxes of space but our children's photos will be contained within a tiny flash drive or external hard drive. also strange how cheap large capacity flash drives and external hard drives are these days.

I have mine backed up on an external hard drive.

I agree with D. It will change the way you see the world. It makes me want to be a better person and it makes me want the world to be a better place.

Also, the part about it flying by is true. Take the time to enjoy it. You cannot turn back the clock. I am a stay at home dad and am spoiled with how much time I have with family.

Unfortunately, when my kids were small digital was just becoming popular. So most of the pics I have when the kids were small are printed pictures. I do have several years of digital backed up on an external HD though.

It was a game changer for me (in a good way). Raising a child is a much bigger responsibility than just taking care of yourself.

It seems like my oldest was just born yesterday. She's now 25. It's crazy how fast all those years go by. Make the most of it now because they'll be teenagers before you know it.

That is wonderful, SG! A little Manbug! I imagine you will not be sleeping much for a while.
