paramilitary question

#1

Post by kwak »

recently i aquired the new paramilitary (new in holland that is), besides from the obvious good looks and probable usefulness it had quite a lot of play on the pivot point, not on the compression lock itself.

i returned to my wholesaler only to see that all of the paramilitaries he had had the same problem, some more some less.

because of me liking the design i left with one i thought had the least play, but still, has anyone encountered this problem also?

I have a paramilitary and there is no play at all in the lock or the pivot pin. You may try tightening the torx screws on the pivot pin and see if that helps. I have seen some other people post about the same thing with their paramilitaries and most people say they don't have any play at all.

I assume you bought your Para-Military from Adola? That's where I got mine too. My Para-Military has no play at all fortunately. I guess I was lucky.

A T8 torx driver or a 3/32 inch allen wrench will fit the pivot screw if you want to tighten it. I do recall reading something about there being play in the first production run Paramilitaries. A T6 torx driver fits the other assembly screws.

the play in the paramilitary pivot-pin area
is felt only by releasing the lock and then by pulling and pushing the blade back and forth, but take care for your fingers
until now i never encountered this problem with spydies and i own about 20
greetz from holland
