I'm a long-time lurker and Spyderco owner (about a year and a half) but have pretty bad social anxiety so I tend not to engage in forums. However, I've found this particular online forum to consistently be a wellspring of knowledge and kindness so I decided to finally say hello.
I work in IT/Networking for a defense contracting company so my knives are usually used with boxes, zip-ties and network cabling... not the harshest or most abrasive materials but they'll work down an edge pretty quickly on cheaper knives. Not my Spydercos, of course

These are my three most used (and therefore, favorite) Spyderco knives:
1. Native 5 LW, PE, in S35VN, kept in pocket all the time - My first Spyderco, bought in 2015. I was so impressed with this knife it brought me here to the forums to read more about the background and history of the knife (and the company). It's been a slippery slope since then but one I slide down with child-like glee and wonderment :D.
2. Manix 2 LW, PE, in S110V, kept in my EDC pouch or backpack - I bought this knife in 2016 for the jobs that my Native 5 LW were too small for. All-time favorite knife.
3. Byrd Cara Cara 2 Rescue, SE, in 8Cr13Mov - I bought this knife earlier this year and it's another easy favorite. This is the knife I use when I'm hesitant to use my Manix or Native (which is basically every cutting task at my job). Since the blade is made of 8Cr13Mov steel it's surpremely field sharpen-able. Finally, at ~$23 I'm not at all hesitant to lend this knife to a friend during beach hang-outs or camping trips.
Anyway, I'm not sure why I just spat out this wall of text but either way I look forward to discussing knives, sharpening techniques, steels and everything else Spyderco with all of you lovely people :).
I hope you have a wonderful day :)
EDIT: Can anyone recommend a good small-mid sized SE hawkbill from Spyderco or Byrd's line? I got the H1 Ladybug Hawkbill but realized I might need something a bit more stout xD.
