LC200N is interesting and I agree only if serrated. I only bought the left hand version because it was a lefty, and hate the plain edge. Bring back serrated millies

Why serrated? For cutting rope and other general nauticalness?

Of all the serrated or combination edge knives, the military was the best because it afforded a usable portion of plain edge as well as the spyderedge.

I have 3 Military's in plain/combo/serrated and the one I use most is the combo even though the plain edge is Cruwear..
The CE was my first Military and I actually got it while I was looking for a PE but it just really seems to work well on this design.

I own and carry military knives and the serrated is my favourite for my uses around the home. I have a plain edge in the left pocket for that moment when it just must be a plain edge but that is not very often. I'm not a sailor or anything like that, just live on a little bit of property that requires maintenance.

What do you have to do to the internal parts typically steel (pivot, screws, standoffs, etc.) to make it worthy of the Salt name? Make them from titanium or LC200N, coat them with something like Cerakote, or do something completely different?

I'd say, basically make a knife rust proof,
that is, using H1, Titanium, LC200N, Talonite or any other non-oxidizable stuff for the metal parts

I know this idea has come up here many times before and there were always a number of reasons why it couldn't happen. i am wondering though if this couldn't be a real possibility now with a steel like lc200n?

Some of the reasons a millie salt wouldn't work were...
1. H1 is a japanese steel and the military u.s. Made. Well, we now know they can work with lc200 in golden.
2. I seem to recall hearing Sal say that H1 didn't work well with a liner/frame lock. Obviously this isn't a problem with lc200 as it is used in the tusk.
3. H1 couldn't be (or was too difficult to be) flatground. Not sure if this is possible with lc200 but I would assume so. Even if not I could forego the flatground if it meant getting a millie salt.

Now, I'm sure they might have to make some changes in the hardware and liner steel to keep things up to the "salt" standard, but it seems that a steel like lc200n could break down a lot of the barriers that have kept the military out of the salt line. Thoughts?

Fwiw, we could have one straight away if they just made a ti millie sprint with an lc200n blade.
I think a Serrated Military in LC200N would make and excellent addition to the Salt series.
