If we're talking about the aluminum scales I would like to see them in a royal/navy blue with toxic green in between the pattern. If we're talking titanium I would be perfectly happy with raw titanium. The anodizing on titanium doesn't seem to last. The traction sounds about perfect as well. As others have said, if you go into production I would be very interested in a set or two.Rockscale wrote:Thanks everyone. I didn't expect so much positive feedback! Currently working on my anodizing setup and can't wait to test out some colors. Just don't know what color I should do. I'm thinking about doing two tones, one for the patterns and the other one is for the handle. If you guys want to see a specific color combo then let me know.
Cpl thanks for your interested in buying my scale, maybe if there are enough interests I will make a few to sell but for now I just love to play around with different patterns and refining the design with everyone's feedback.
Tdog- I totally forgot to weigh the knife with the ti on it. I'll let me know the weight soon.
MMGRenovations- the Ti feels very solid compared to aluminum but you can definitely feel it in your pocket :D . The scale is not as grippy as I initially thought but it's grippy enough to not slip. If the grippy-ness of the Manix G10 is 7 out of 10, then the titanium is about a 6.

Thanks for the color idea, MMG. I will definitely try those colors you mentioned tomorrow since I just finished with my anodizing setup today. The Ti scale compared to the G10 is about .85 oz heavier, that's about 15% more than the original Manix.

Wow they look awesome! I really like the green ones. I would like them just like that, I think they would handle wear a little better that way. Seems like the titanium would be easier to do a two tone color scheme.
Re: Parametric Titanium Scale for the Manix 2!!!
The annodized ones are really cool, but I actually prefer the non-annodized ones.
Re: Parametric Titanium Scale for the Manix 2!!!
I would be in for a set of you ever decided to make some available for sale.
Re: Parametric Titanium Scale for the Manix 2!!!
I will definitely let you guys know once I make more of these!
I used the same green and orange scale and double anodized it. As MMG suggested I tried doing blue and green which turn out awesome even though the blue is a bit lighter than I intended. The second scale, I was able to get the blue I wanted but the orange started to turn gold. Both are then lightly stonewashed to get deeper depth of color.

Wow I really like the blue/gold those turned out really nice! It's hard to tell the blue on the green set. I'm ready to swap out my blurple scales out! Have you tried to anodize a titanium set?
Re: Parametric Titanium Scale for the Manix 2!!!
Yup, those are the Ti scales. I currently don't have the setup for aluminum.

Re: Parametric Titanium Scale for the Manix 2!!!
Understood, for some reason I thought you were anodizing the aluminum ones. Another possible color combo that would be nice is blue in between and bronze on the outer color. These scales are awesome!!! Hopefully you can go into production with these! I have been wanted new scales for my manix 2 for a while now.Rockscale wrote:Yup, those are the Ti scales. Re: Parametric Titanium Scale for the Manix 2!!!
I will try out that color combo this weekend. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish my other pattern I've been working on as well. Can't wait to show you guys! :D
