I have been carrying a Spyderco flipper as EDC since February 2015. I have used it a lot - that's the purpose of an EDC in my opinion - but I've never flipped it open when I'm about to use it. Sure I've played around and flipped it open to try it out, but the Spyderhole is sooo much better.

I consider Flippers to be a showoff, just like a Butterfly. :-)

I have several (almost all) Spy flippers and some ZT. I really like flippers and I think that the opening system does not make a knife more aggressive than another, it depends more on the owner. I encourage Spyderco with the evolution of this system in their knives

I might eventually get a Mantra simply because I love the size and blade shape. Not really into flippers, though, as for folders I prefer the Spydie Hole/compression lock configuration to all others.

I love the elegant simplicity of the spydie hole, and i dont like to change ''gears'' all the time when opening a knife. So no flippers for me.
