Street Price of NIB Shabaria?

#1

Post by Edgar »

My local knife shop has a new Shabaria in the case. Seems more like a collectors piece than anything else. They are asking $100. Too much?

You might be able to find one online a little cheaper ($90 range), but that's about right.

Don't forget to figure time, shipping, sales tax or savings thereof, etc...
Then there is the benefit of supporting a local merchant that carries :spyder: . $100 seems fair to me.

Spydernut,
One nice thing about NH. No sales tax. :D Although there aren't many knife shops around either :(

Thanks for the feedback folks. I always support the local merchant before going on-line. At least give them a shot at the biz first. If the prices are close, I go with the local guy. The advantage is I get instant gratification. No waiting for shipping and stuff like that.

Welcome Edgar to the Spyderco Forum :)
For a Shabaria...I would go for it. I got a good deal on mine through a Canadian dealer and it was well worth it. Is it plain edge or combo??? If plain edge I would not hesitate for a second...but that is just me. I love the design of the Shab :) Take Care and stick around!!!

I suggest you get it and retire it immediately! :)

I bought mine NIB for $50, but that was a year and a half ago. They're not getting any more plentiful, but $100 seems rich to me.
