Hi Lance, that is most likely Pakka Wood. Thin laminations of dyed or colored birch glued up with epoxy. Sort of like micarta only wood. Enjoy the show.

I assume it is dyed laminated wood like what is used on gun stocks and pistol grips.

Yes, that's what it appeared to be to me. Blue dyed pakka wood. Looks and feels very much like regular wood. It's a very attractive knife!

I'm more into visiting people than knives. It was great to visit, Surfingringo.

Nice! Pakkawood used to be used more in the ancient past of the late 80s and early 90s, at least that's when I first encountered the material on some Al Mar knives. I'd love to see more 'wood' on Spyderco knives, so I'm in for this one.

Hey buddy, I am too and that is why I go to the show. I have been there three years in a row and I have never bought a knife at the show but I've made a lot of friends! Great to get a chance to meet you and a few others this year!

Same to you Surfingringo.

I didn't or rather haven't bought any knives yet, but I did buy a set of Shapton stones.

I would guess it to be more expensive than $100.

It would have to be built on the G-10 Delica frame, the G-10 Delica frame was selling for $100 before the MAP and I am thinking wood costs more than G-10. We might be at the $140-150 range.

The standard frn and vg10 Delica is around $65, the HAP40 Delica was right around $100 and the G10 with VG10 Delica was over $100. This should be even more. I am preparing myself for an even higher number.

Did this have exposed liners like the g10 version, nested liners like the frn version or possibly no liners at all?

Laminated blade?

I am beginning to not like Spyderco. Every time I turn around they are making a new knife I absolutely have to have.
