All out of stock by the time I got there, but I googled around and found one on the 6th store I visited (OsoGrande).

How durable is the handle material? It is hard to tell much from the description. Some plastics are very tough and strong, but others not so much.

I'm really looking forward to checking this one out in person. The photos give me an idea, but I think this is going to be one I have to hold in my hand.

I too really like the looks of the knife, but will wait to see what others on the forum have to say before buying. With the Caly 3 coming shortly and plans for a Ti Millie, the Chaparral will have to take a number.

Mine is in hand from Mark's and will be in wife's closet until Father's Day. It is a piece of art though. I sent Roger a few pics and this scale material is other worldly. I still am skittish on 2mm blade stock but I actually am pretty protective of my knives so I am sure it will be fine

I actually don't care for the looks, based on the pics, however, I love the Chaparral so much, I ordered one this morning.

I want one, but can't justify it. I already have a Chapparal 3.

You really have to zoom in to see the copper mesh woven in there. This is like no scale material I have seen before. As much as I want a SE PM2, in business casual M-F, I EDC smallish blades and this will get used more than any rougher model. I will have to wait until Father's Day

Has anyone who preordered at Knife Center gotten a shipment notification yet?

I pre-ordered before Christmas, and emailed KC yesterday. Response: "Unfortunately, we do not have a scheduled delivery date for these items at this time."

:/ Thanks for the info. Debating whether or not I should just cancel it and order at Oso Grande. I'll probably wait a couple days, considering it's not a sprint run. Eventually they should be pretty easy to find...
