Post your Para 3!
I'm new to the forum and also the knife carrying thing. I've looked at Spyderco knifes a few times but haven't had the itch to spend the money on one until a couple weeks ago.
Well last night I ordered a Para 3, a TI blue deep pocket clip, TI blue spacer, TI blue lanyard tube, and TI blue screws.
Total investment was: 173.99
Knife $119.99
Accessories $54
I hope I like it!! Post some pictures of your Para 3 with or without modifications! I'll post mine when it comes in the mail! :)

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum Josh! I hope you like your Para 3. For whatever reason I don't carry mine very much. I like it just fine but I guess I have other knives that I like to carry more. I think I'll pocket mine today just to show it some love. :)

Re: Post your Para 3!
Very nice guys! I haven't seen any pictures with people replacing the screws, spacers, and lanyard tube yet, I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks and personalizing it to be my own. I think the knife comes in on Tuesday, hopefully I'll have the other parts by Friday so I can post pictures!

Welcome to the forums Josh! Hope you enjoy your para 3 when you get it!
Haven't done any customizing, though id love to get a deep carry clip, as I feel like it sticks out of pocket a little bit too much as is.
Figured id add a picture to the mix!

Full size lynch clip in pocket would be cool for comparison!
Re: Post your Para 3!
Casey is developing a deep carry clip specifically for the para 3 that factors in the lanyard tube placement
Re: Post your Para 3!
I saw a pic of that on one of the Spyderco FB pages or Casey's IG feed. It's nice that he's doing that but I'm not sure it's really necessary. I guess it might be helpful for those using really thick lanyards. Otherwise, there's plenty of clearance for most lanyards without having to cut part of the clip away. I don't use a lanyard so I would much prefer the looks and strength of the unmodified Lynch clips.Spydergirl88 wrote:Casey is developing a deep carry clip specifically for the para 3 that factors in the lanyard tube placement

I tried to be a PM2 guy, and I could never get into the Comp Lock.
But this thread makes me dream of a Manix 3 along the same lines--shortened Manix 2 for overly-legislative places.

Couple questions for you guys who have this knife.
The new Manix back lock was mentioned to have a new fine peel ply G10 texture, does this knife have that? If so how do you like it?
Also, the scales look to have a round beveling on the corners instead of the flat 45 degree bevel we see on most G10, or am I just seeing things? Hard to tell in pics but the handle just looks "softer" all around.

The texture is similar to my other Golden Spydies. Mine's still relatively new so it feels a little more course but it looks the same as the others.Evil D wrote:Couple questions for you guys who have this knife.

I compared my Para 3 to my PM2s and it does have a little more bevel on the corners. It feels pretty good in hand overall.
