Deep Carry Clips

#1

Post by jdw »

I just discovered the miracle of deep carry clips. I have never been a huge fan of the PM2 because I felt like it was always poking me in the hip. But alas, I put a deep carry clip on it and it's like owning a whole new knife. It made me wonder how many folks on the board prefer deep carry clips and those who don't and why? Just wonderin'. Thanks.

I was checking out their clips on etsy yesterday. They have a lot of nice designs. Kind of hard to decide between a few of them lol

The link or pic isn't showing, but that clip is actually one of the 2 front runners I liked the most. I'll be grabbing a new clip for my incoming m390 pm2 and that may be the one.

That's weird, both pics are showing up for me  Keep in mind that each clip is made to order and it can take several weeks.

They look great on your knives. I checked out their site and they really do have some excellent clips.

Keep in mind that John aka Pops can customize your clip, make it longer or shorter, I had him make me one with my initials and it turned out great. Oh yeah, after your fist order John will give you a 10% discount on any future orders :)

I do not like a deep carry clip. Had one once. Couldn't get it out of my pocket.
Anyway, I like my knife to show. But then, maybe I'm compensating for something.

I use deep pocket clips on nearly all knives that come with standard clips, otherwise I don't carry. Just my preference.

They look abominable, I like Spyderco hourglass etc. clips, and I like something to grab on to. I also don't usually care who sees it, which raises the point, do y'all think people can't see the clip? Just sayin' 'cause you asked.

Strangely enough, I can see your pm2 pic now, but it's in place of where your yojimbo 2 should be in the quoted text? Lol computers ammirite? But I do really like that, and I didn't know he would shorten up any of the designs and that would be perfect since that was the only complaint I had with the chevron design, I want a shorter clip than stock. Awesome. Thanks for the info!

I love the factory clips and I also love the deep ride ones as well. I carry in both configurations. If I have custom scales on a Spydie, then I have a custom clip. Factory knife, factory clip. I don't really care who sees my knife either, it's more a matter of liking different style clips that's all. Plethora of knives and accessories out there, choose what you like and who cares what anybody else thinks as long as you're happy with it?

Glad someone said it. I've yet to see an after market clip that I like. They all look strange to me. That's a big reason I was so excited to hear that Spyderco would be making their own. Then they pulled the plug. Bummer.

Standard issue clips only for me.

I find the ergos are best when the pocket clip is removed all together. I carry my Yojimbo and PM2's clipless in my right front watch/coin pocket of my jeans, total concealment, easy access, and a superior grip on the handle.

But don't you just hate it when your knife falls out when doing your ninja flying somersault kicks? :D
