Realistic value of discontinued NIB Stretch VG10/FRN

#1

Post by MIL-DOT »

Hi guys, long time no see :p ! I'm wondering what's a realistic value of a VG10/FRN Spyderco Stretch that's still new-in-box.
A little while back, I was seeing prices on ebay up around $120, but now i'm not seeing any of this model on ebay at all, but I ran across a couple used ones from Amazon affiliate vendors, at $200+. Is that deep-space crazy, or are these things really commanding that kind of premium?
Any solid info, or even a good guess, is much appreciated.....

DLT had the VG10 Stretch LW in stock last week for $90. I thought that was a little high but they are discontinued and getting hard to find. Stretch 2 FRN should be out soon and it's listed at $80.97. So no way I'd consider paying over $100 for the earlier version even if I do like it better. $200 for one is ridiculous.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

What ever you can sell it for. I have seen greedy knife flippers make all kinds of money on Spyderco's and other brands in my life. I have seen people hype up knives on the forums and then the same knife is on eBay. So if you can get someone to pay 800 for it that is what it is worth....to someone.

To me 80 bucks.... :D

It would have collector value if one were collecting the historical development of the the model. It began in the mid 80's with the "Hunter" model, which had a number of variations before we "Stretched" the model and there have been a number of variations to that as well. Now we've begun the "2" model which I'm sure will share variations.

Some of our models have long history with many branches.
