Native 40th Anniversary Blade Swap Question
Native 40th Anniversary Blade Swap Question
Since hearing that the Fluted CF Native/S90V project was scrapped, I've been strongly considering going the expensive route and making my own from an Anniversary model and some other TBD parts donor/recipient. The problem I'm having is deciding which other Native model to use. I don't think it's as easy as choosing the best steel option currently available (arguably the S110V blurple) because I'm planning on selling the other half of this Frankenstein, so I'm thinking the donor knife needs to look good with Thor Damascus, so perhaps the Fluted Ti model is the right choice. Or would it be altogether wrong to sell a Franken-model with a 40th Anniversary blade (of course not trying to pass it off as a legitimate anniversary model) in it? The blade is kinda the most important/significant portion of the Anniversary model, after all.

Re: Native 40th Anniversary Blade Swap Question
I can make this decision easier for you. The new blurple (indigo
) G10 S110V Native 5 has slightly different dimensions than previous iterations of both the lightweight FRN models and the black G10 S35VN, CF and forest green G10 S110V, and fluted Ti models. I tried a scale swap with the blurple G10 and rather quickly/sadly came to this realization.
Now the question is whether the fluted CF shares the dimensions of all the other N5's or the slightly tinkered version of the blurple G10 S110V... A much cheaper solution is to buy the lightweight FRN S110V and perhaps sell just the leftover Damascus blade to someone who may want it.
Hope that helps, Radioactive :)

Oh wow, I had no idea that the dimensions were different. Thanks a ton, Radioactive! That helps a bunch! I think if I go ahead with the project I'll go the route you mentioned about the S110V LW. Thanks again!
