Probably not. Saturday is their "day off", so all hands on deck during the sale are there for just that one thing, the sale.

Welcome to the Forum! There are a few ways to buy a factory second when you can't get there yourself. One is to contact someone who is going, tell them what you are looking for and send them money to buy it. Obviously, there is some risk involved in sending money to a total stranger halfway around the world, and there is no guarantee that what you want will even be available. Another way is to watch eBay for a few weeks after the sale. A lot of the seconds sold end up being resold there. Problem there is not everyone is honest enough to say they are selling a second, and you are bidding against other people who may not know what that means so they are willing to pay a lot more than the seller did. The Exchange at Bladeforums.com is also likely to have a bunch of seconds for sale in coming weeks, probably at better prices than eBay and less risky.

Any speculation on how seconds prices will change post-MAP?

Though it varied by model and specific knife, knives could be had on sale most places for 55% MSRP without waiting long. Now MAP has increased that street price by 5% of MSRP. I wonder if we will now see most of the seconds in the 40-45% range rather than the 30-40% from last year

I told myself I'd make it this year, but I need my vacation time for a much bigger adventure after Xmas. Foiled again! I'll likely still stop by then just to check out the shop though. I don't suppose maybe we could postpone this a month and a half? :D

Happy hunting y'all! And if there are any Vrangos there and someone accidentally grabs one too many... ;)

I wish Spyderco could find a way to do this online. It's hard to be involved at all from 1200+ miles away!

I thoroughly concur at 4577 miles away ;)
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

From the things I've seen people whine about on the forums, I'd say they'd be better off running all those knives through a chop saw and tossing the pieces in the dumpster than trying to sell them online. Sorry you can't make it there, but maybe Sal will find a way to have a sale closer to where you live. The 400 mile trip for me is as close as one is ever going to be held, there aren't enough people around here to warrant it, even if they were all Spderholics.

Dang, I would love to attend, but the journey is just too far, especially in between work trips.

I know it's just a couple days left before the sale, but I'll also put a shout out in case anyone is still willing to run middleman and help me out. There are 2-3 things I'm interested in.

All sales are final. That is why you have to be there to inspect. Trust me, that is a good thing. There are some gems at the sales for sure but there are some rough knives as well. You absolutely want the opportunity to see them for yourself. Even being there in person and closely inspecting every knife you could still easily miss a major flaw. I got burned pretty badly on a knife that I inspected very, very closely. Since I was there I blame myself but had I bought it online I would have been livid. Spyderco wants nothing to do with that.

The other reason I can think of is demand>supply. It would be a shame to turn a positive community coming together at the factory into an online sale where everything is gone in 5 min.

Kyle, Are you officially going to be at the sale? If so you should send me an email and I can be sure to grab you some warmer gear haha :). Also last year we used the IG hashtag #spydercofactory2ndsale to post photos because it's easier to post then there. So if you want to see pictures check that out!

Bad weather held out just in time for the sale.
