Post by Bigcommo64 »

Hello new to the forum. had a few questions I received an inheritance collection of spyderco knives from my grandfather you may know him as collector 047. I will post some pictures of the collection but for my insurance I want to update it so that I can be covered you never know what may happen. What would you valve this collection. I also received some swiss army and case knives thanks everyone.

Nice collection, but you might be treading on thin ice with the topic of price discussion/value around here. Mods may think your putting out soft sale ads...

pics aren't the best but there are definitely some nice ones in there. Welcome and hope to see you stick around and enjoy the knives for what they are.

Wow, very nice collection, sorry to hear about your grandfather, and welcome to the forum. Its kinda hard to see exactly what you have there, maybe a more detailed list would help put a rough value on it.
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

If it came from my grandfather, I would value it as priceless.

Main resons for this request is that being in the military I tend to move a lot and seeing if its worth getting a legitimate quote on record incase something gets lost during a move overseas to German or Hawaii. Thanks again for the info.

That's a nice collection. It looks like your grandfather has similar taste in knives to my own tastes. :)

I remember being a little kid and UPS was coming like what seemed like everyday . My grandmother would be yelling at him saying "you bought another **** knife didn't you" not always true but most of the time.

If you can post better pics you will get a number of replies with names of all thats pictured, find a way to organize them (possibly put little numbered notes on them) then we can name them for you.

Here are some of the models I can identify. I put a star next to some of the rare models, rare doesn't always mean valuable.

He has a few FRN Natives, a few Snap-its, a Stainless Lava, a FRN Stretch, a P'kal, Spyderhawk, 2 Tasmans, a few Kopas, a Ulize, a Spin, a Mouse*, Stainless Dragonfly, Black Caly Jr, I think it's a Volpe, an Older Mini Manix*, a stainless Delica, a bone Kiwi, some Rescues, Blue Yojimbo 1, Salt 1, was there an older Karahawk?, some Lums, a Military, an older Stretch, a Civilian or two, an ATR - possibly titanium*, 2 Lil Temps*, an old school Rookie*, a black Dyad*, a few Salsas*, a Spydersaw*, an Assist, a couple of Caly's, an R*, a Centofante, a full sized Goddard*, a Walker*, a red smaller Dyad*.

The D'allara Rescue, if it has a piece of steel on the other side, that's a 9/11 memorial knife and the steel is from the 9/11 tower! 9/11 memorial knives are pretty rare and pretty valuable.
I'm not sure what that one with the red g-10 scale is, it doesn't look like a Persian.
That one knife looks like a Native 5 with a barrel clip, I'm not sure what that is.
The "church mouse" is one of the most rare Spyderco knives that I'm aware of, if the mouse has a church logo on it, it could be valuable.
Walkers can get valuable, but it doesn't look like one of the valuable ones, the valuable ones have a big pivot screw on the side you took a picture of.

The name of the folding fillet knife is slipping my mind. And the lock back with the same handle shape as the Meerkat is, too, there are two of those.

There are a few of the Spyderco's that I cannot identify.

Hey donut, heck of a list. Looks like you nailed it  Problem is we gotta remember this guy is new to it, he's got no idea what a yojimbo or an atr is lol. That's why I mentioned he place labels/#'s on them so we can help him name them and know what they are. Also the name of the folding filet knife is the catcherman, great piece for the collection. Also seeing an original karambit, scorpius and the lockback meerkats are navigators :)

That's true, but he can google them if he's interested in the name or interested that I have a star next to it.

Alright so I took individual photos of each knife. Should I upload on this sight not sure how many can be added at once or I can create a folder in my Google Drive and let you all view it from there. Or if you have a better and easier way let me know. I am going to transfer on to my computer and edit the photos to add numbers on each so everyone will be on the same page and not getting confuse d(mainly me). Hope you are ready I counted 110
