Re: Photography
just woke up from a LONG day at disney. we started off at epcot for the food and wine festival. this is where i took most of my pictures because by the time we made it to the magic kingdom it was too dark out.

i also got to play with the 70-300 lens finally. it does really well in bright sunlight, once it got overcast it was done. but i really love how these came out.

at epcot they have a little miniature train track with some miniature scenes to go along with it. the people are about 2 inches tall. i beleive for this shot i was about 8 ft or so away zoomed all the way in with the 70-300.

and i also got to shoot my first concert!! was super excited about this. during the food and wine festival they have an artist come play a show for the day. yesterday sugar ray was playing. got to sit in the 3rd row and was just snapping away. i think i took 300 pictures all using my 50 1.8 and could still only get a handful of usable ones. that lighting really is tricky.

Re: Photography
Nice pictures!
Yeah, the 70-300mm works beautifully in bright light conditions and suffers in low light... that said, if you can adjust your ISO high enough on your camera you may be able to squeeze off some low-light shots, although the images may be a bit "grainy," to use a film term (I believe, "noisy" is the digital photography lingo).
I have a 70-200mm f/2.8 that does well in low light conditions, although it can be a rather large and heavy lens... that's why I like the combination of a 70-300mm with a DSLR that you can punch up the ISO to compensate for low light conditions during those times when you need to travel light.

Re: Photography
I'd love to get my hands on the 70-200 2.8. Yeah i rewlly need to stsrt messing with the iso more. I usually just leave it at 100 because it seems to work well with the conditions i shoot in 90% of the time. I also realized that I really need a wide angle lens. Time to resesrch.

Awesome shot! Looks like this should be a postcard or something. I wish we had some landscape here in florida. Everything is just so flat or its all built on with power lines and stuff.

Nice pics ya'all!
got a sigma 10-20mm F3,5 lens a while ago, and a Hoya HD sircular polarizing filter to go with it. Now I just need to get my lazy a** to some decent places to do some landscape photos.

I have the 10-20mm f4-5.6, it's a great lens! Don't limit yourself to landscape shots, that focal length is incredibly versatile...JT wrote:Nice pics ya'all!

Re: Photography
These are all very nice, although there's something about the very first one that stands out... the way you compsed it, the combinations of colors and patterns, and the casualness of it all makes for a very candid photograph.

Re: Photography
bumping this thread!!
been spending a lot of time behind the camera lately. picked up a canon 100m f2.8 macro and 135mm f2 L lens. i absolutely love these lenses. have been focusing mostly on nature photography and love it. probably one of the only people that uses this short of a focal length for nature shots. here are some photos for yall. if you want to see more check out my instagram kickin_it_photography

Re: Photography
Great thread, I have been dabbling in photography for a few years now and investing in quality glass as I develop my skills. I currently have a Nikon D3300 and I switch between 50mm F1.8 prime or an 18-140mm F1:3.5-5.6
When I am not photographing knives I like nature shots and animals as my subjects. Here is a recent example, I will share more later tonight.
