2016 Forum knife?

Will there be a 2016 Forum knife?

How about something useful, like a Dragonfly 2 with some exotic steel choice and a nice color (deep blue)?

I can't really imagine it happening since there are still 2015 forum knives available.

I think it should be Surfingringo's previously mentioned 52100 UKPK or SpyDK. I have one non locking Spydie, a Pingo, that I adore. Do I want more slipjoints? Not really but it only seems fair to be inclusive of our friends across the pond, who would get 30 days in the hole for a Native 5. And as El Gringo mentioned, the slippie would be awesome to beat on and get the soul of the steel

Hey TBD, what I really like about the idea of using something like the UKPK to showcase new steels is it would give us a very affordable way to try out the latest steel options. I would love, for example, to try 52100 but I don't need another Millie and I don't have $200 to drop just to try out the steel. I imagine a UKPK in the same steel would come in at a fraction of that price. I don't really need a UKPK either, but I could afford the price just for a chance to try the steel. I guess for me it would be kind of like a folding mule. haha.

I'd be all over a drop point UKPK, Spy or Urban in 52100. Actually, any non-laminated carbon steel would be just fine :)

How about a Chaparral in red weave carbon fiber? I mentioned this a couple of years ago. Now the Domino is out with this and it looks great.

I think the reason they still have left over 2015 Forum knives is the color. If you all will forgive me, it looks like something a baby left in his diaper.

Not always a bad thing. Toxic green seems to be a pretty popular scale color. :p

I like the 2015 forum knife color myself. I would put it in the burnt orange category. Colorful but subdued a little. Not everyone's preference but I like it.

I know it's not a Golden model but a Forum Poliwog would be a smash...

While many said it looks better in person, the color was definitely a turn-off for me, especially with the S110V LW being released around the same time. Also why I bought SB but skipped HAP40.

This, and also a forum knife does not happen yearly. I've seen 2 forum knives since I've registered here.

I think you are correct sir. Most people probably buy the forum knife as a collection piece so a kind of funky color probably didn't help sales. I know there were some folks liked the color fine...but apparently there weren't enough of them. :)

I'm actually a big fan of the maroon/burgandy on the 2015 Native, it was a leap of faith though. If I had gone by the early pics, I would have passed. I've wondered how much better it would have sold if they got the pics right.

Even then, I'm sure a lot of folks would still go for the midnight blue once that dropped. I'd love to see a dark blue UKPK personally.

Folding mule! That is gold Lance. I don't know why that struck me so funny. I have tried hard to get into fixed blades and I just never find good opportunities to use one except in the kitchen. I think even a friction folding mule would be cool to try new steels

I cannot imagine that Forum knife will happen any time "soon". may be in few years.

Possibly this is one of the reasons. It was OK for me, but considering that many people made the same comment, this can be true.
Still I believe that even bigger cause that Spyderco made too many of them. Many more than 2013 Natives. 2013 N5 was super special: Forum knife, the hottest steel plus great scales. Forum members wanted to buy it, any kind of steel nuts wanted it, plus collectors for all reasons above. And it was sold out with hours. 2015 Forum knife was only forum knife and nothing more. So only forum members were interested, but some of them were turned off by color.
