Well I was already interested in the Ouroborus and the Sage 5, and that hasn't changed. The Advocate looks really nice. I love Slysz's work so the Spydiechef looks interesting, even if I don't really cook. I'm guessing the Magnitude basically replaces the original Rubicon in the lineup. I know some folks think the Rubicon 2 is a horrible idea but I think it's good that they're making a piece that gives you the same blade but with handles that are more affordable and slender.

Peter Carey's Rubicon2 is a more affordable and trimmer Rubicon with a CF/G-10 Laminate handle instead of the polished CF and the same 3" S30V blade.

Peter Carey's Magnitude has a true CF handle (matte instead of polished like the old Rubicon) and a 3.5" blade of S30V with a different blade shape.

All are titanium liner locks with ball bearing flipper action as well as the hole opening.

Advocate was previously named TAC 1s and Junction used to be called Packer.

I am genuinely confused... are you just expanding on what I said or correcting something? :p

A little of both. :)

Just that Magnitude isn't replacing Rubicon since it's a different blade shape and length. Also, the CF looks different, that is, not so polished nor bulbous.

Thanks for pointing this out Ramzar! I knew there was something else that I like but I couldn't put my finger on it. My Rubicon looks great but I really wish that it wasn't so polished on the CF. The Magnitude looks to fix most of the issues I had with the Rubicon. I'm very excited for this.

That makes 4 Peter Carey collaborations now right?

Still a couple more to come if I'm not mistaken. There is the Mini Nitro that Mr Carey previewed the custom prototype for on Instagram, and I recall mention of a fixed blade collaboration from the Amsterdam meet.

Ha, ok. I should clarify that what I meant by "replace" is that it's taking the place of the Rubicon as a "high-end collab flipper with rounded machined CF handles and a distinct blade shape", especially since they're both Carey designs. It's like how the last-gen smartphones get a drop in price when the new one comes out. A more specific analogy would be the iPhone 5/5s design being replaced by iPhone 6/6s, and iPhone SE is like the Rubicon 2.

Thanks for the info. Seems a little steep for the materials used, but I am no expert. I will still probably have to have one.. Same with the Roc.

Here's the link to the Spyderco 2016 Retail Price Guide. Remember normal street pricing is MAP or 40% off MSRP.

Very glad to see they're keeping the Junction with a 2.5mm blade stock.

Headscratcher is the price... The Junction is 2" shorter than the Sustain and has flat G10 scales vs the Sustain's radiused G10 with hidden pins, and they're both going to be $180 street?
