Although AFAIK, there isn't a dedicated thrower in the Spyderco offer, many Spyderco knives are suitable for throwing.
Almost all their fixed blades will do the trick (not so sure about the SPOT, though I guess mr. Janich could cope with this as well) <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Speaking of folders, many of them are pretty well balanced. I'm thinking of the Endura, Delica, Native, Police, Calypso (jr. and full size) all make for good throwers.

The guy is BSing you.

However, there is a Spyderco owned patent for a throwing knife.

John AKA Knife Knut on a shoestring budget.

This is what Fred Perrin has to say about the Native in regards to throwing,

The lock is strong and the feel is great (hammer or Icepick) One of my favorite test... I throw the knife ! Yes
it was not design for that. But ... this is my test. But it's a less than a meter range throw. What I do is:
Speeddraw, gravity opening and throw ! (Please don't try it at home.) This is hard test especially for the lock
of the blade. The Native passes it with full success. Good balance and sturdy construction.

Never could seem to throw a knife correctly. I can make just about anything else stick though, screwdrivers, hatchets, pens (into carboard) but not knives. Perhaps it's a deficiency of some kind.
