You're a mad man, Eddie! No, maybe I'm a little harsh, and certainly opinionated. But I do heavily prefer the old handle.

No more shredding! :)
Thanks for the tip! I'm going to have to try this! I have some knives in tip down, some in tip up, so I don't mind going both ways. ;)

Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

Nice picture, but I really like that the knife is much more brownish in real life. It is very nice color.

T10 is the smallest Torx I have. Since I'm going to have to order a T6, what other sizes should I get while I am at it?

This morning, I cut and slashed my way through a bunch of cardboard boxes cluttering up my garage. A collectible Forum Knife may not have been a wise choice, but I have to tell you it was a pleasure to work with. Now that I have a Sharpmaker, I'm not afraid to use my Spydies.

All depends how you look at. 2013 Forum Native went to my pocket right away and I am using it to cut anything I need. Cardboard boxes, closed with fiber-glass reinforced tape is a routine twice weekly. For other reason blade doesn't have belly anymore :( . Money wise this wasn't smart, but what can replace my enjoyment of using this knife, which gave me more than I can expect from production knife: favorite platform (Native5), favorite color, great steel and pride of ownership (US made). Of cause I have back-ups. I bought two from Spyderco and than one from e-bay.

I would buy whole set. For some knives you need more than just T10 and T6. Cheap Chinese made sets can be found at Hope depot for under $10.
I bought a little better L shape set and use it for many years. I find them very convinient.

you can get the same set made by Bondhus, which is good American brand, I use their products as well for just over $10. If you have Amazon prime, shipping is free

Thank you for your reply. I ordered this inexpensive 17 piece set, $8.05 plus free shipping, http://www.ebay.com/itm/171538327103 that includes a Torx T6 and T8, a #1 Phillips and a 1.5 mm hex as suggested at https://www.spyderco.com/edge-u-cation/ ... itions.php. Not sure how well it's made, but those 12-year old Chinese girls can do some good work.

I received my Forum Native on Friday. Without any exaggeration, IMO, this Native is about darn near close to perfect as Spyderco has come in a long time. Lightweight, # 1 or 2 steel, tough-strong lock, ambidextrous. This Forum Native reminds me of when I first saw and held and used an Endura around 1993. It was the total package at the time, and this Native beats that Endura hands down. Spyderco even ground this iteration of the native with a very thin edge; I'm sure it's because s90v can handle it. This Native was made for ELUs who can appreciate all the improvements made to the Native line over the years.

Thanks Spyderco Crew!

Well, we all have different preferences and hand shapes... that is why we have so many Spydercos to choose from! Now would be the time to stock up on the old version, some good prices out there!

Thank you, Spyderco, for a fantastic choice in forum knives. Awesome knife design, awesome steel. Practical, usable, sensible. Not my favorite color, but that's the least important characteristic of this great knife.

But please don't send me one with a screwed-up grind.

Absence of patience. I tried extra coarse 50/80 WE stones, which chipped the edge, so I had to remove a bit of stock to fix this.

Very nice pictures. Thank you for sharing.
It is great to see people, who live that far away enjoying the same knife.
