Let's be real, which to get first is probably the best way to think of this since we all know that when we, as Spyderco fans, always end up getting both of the knives we are looking at eventually, so I am wondering which to get first :)
The Techno looks like a little beast and that CTS-XHP steel hasn't found its way into my collection yet, but the Positron also has my eye. What do you guys think and why?
Thank you!

The Techno would get my vote. For starters, it's a very sturdy LBK that is built like a mini-tank, yet it discreetly disappears in your pocket thanks to the deep-carry wire clip. I also love how the stonewashed blade and Ti handle help to hide everyday scratches, etc. It's a real EDC home-run in a small package, IMHO. In all fairness, the Positron does not appeal to me very much, so I do not own one. (I prefer functional Round Holes and non-flipper actions on my folders. Just my 0.02
).

To me, on paper the Techno is not a knife I would really consider for my uses... way too thick and stocky, IMO.
But, that said, I got one awhile ago anyway, and it is just one of those knives that you just carry and use because It is great fun! Get it in your hand and it makes you smile.
The covered Spyderhole on the lock side does bother me a little, but nothing major.
Sorry, no first hand experience with the Positron here. Looks like a slick little flipper, but I've just been saving my coin for a few other new releases instead.

Techno no doubt about it. Positrons ergos are bad for me.

For the record I don't own a Positron but I do have a Techno and if you ask me it might be one of the best EDC knives Spyderco has ever produced. Yes, It's that good! I spent months narrowing down my criteria for an EDC before getting the Techno and it really matches my every expectation. Don't let the thick stock fool you, the blade is really utilitarian in design and the ergos are very comfortable once you get used to the four finger grip. Fit and finish is of course excellent and I don't see you being disappointed with this knife.

I have and enjoy using both. Which one to get first kind of depends on your usage scenarios and what else you have available to carry.
If it's going to be your only knife, the Techno can handle a wider array of tasks due to its strength.
If you frequently use your edc for food, Positron, due to its sliciness.
Are you usually in dress pants? Positron.
Do you drop your edc accidentally rather often? Techno.
Steel-wise, I prefer the XHP to S30v. They cut and retain edges about the same in my usage, but XHP seemed easier to sharpen and polish.
They're both quirky and beautiful in their own ways.

Since you are getting both I don't think it really matters which you chose. Both are great knives so you can't go wrong. I have both and love both but if I had to pick a favourite I would have to choose the Techno. I'm not really sure why, especially since I find the Positron much more useful. I was late to the Techno game, I only got it last year but it has quickly found its way to the top of my list of Spyderco classics.
Funny enough I was carrying the Techno yesterday and today it is the Positron. Here is a pic I snapped during this mornings walk to help make your decision more difficult (or easier).

Does it really matter which you get first? I say get the one that you have more doubts about. That way you can evaluate it first. I know that my decisions change quite often once I think I have something narrowed down.
I don't have the Positron, but I really love my Techno. It pairs perfectly with its brother the Slysz Bowie.

Both are good. I've actually been carrying a Positron every day for the last couple weeks, but I'd go for the Techno first.
