Thanks for the write up Demon.

There are a lot of nice knives on that list, but I'm looking forward to seeing the little Joule more than any other. :)

Thanks Demon for the teaser!
humm... way too many questions..Byrd-Ark, new Ark sheath, A.T.R, etc etc... So I'll just pick one: Carey fighter? What kind of blade? Bowie-style or something else?

Tell me more about the Barlow looking knife.

Also, the Native XL was a comp lock and not a back lock?
The Barlow style was very, very neatly done indeed- Imagine a slightly fatter 'Barlow' style with Ti bolsters and dark wood scales- and a Spydiehole.
For me, it'd sell to all those that hankered for that 'traditional' styling.

And yes, the Native XL is indeed a comp locker (or the proto we handled was)

This could be big. We have clamoured for a Kopa or Bolstered Chap or some other sort of traditional Spydie gents folder. I am eager to see this.

I will slowly and assuredly be swayed into the flipper and bearing world but for now I will continue to resist. ;)

Excellent stuff Demon, thanks for the write up, looking forward to so many of them. Could be a costly year!
Ps: Any idea long it takes for items shown at the meet to be readily available ? I'm thinking predominantly about the UK legal knives here in particular.
Pps: No news about the Metropolitan?

Considering there's prototypes we saw last year still on the table this year....and others that have been rumbling about in the background for 10 years: there's capacity, market and other prevailing winds to overcome.
So: assume anytime between next week and never I'm afraid ;)

Pps: No news about the Metropolitan?
Didn't see it....though the Navigator slipjoint was very, very nice: plus Lil Native slipjoint? Mmm. Yes.

Dear Demoncase,
You just blew my mind, sir. :D Wow... You are indeed a gentleman, scholar, and saint. Thank you for the awesome detailed write-up and overview. Loved your hand-written notes, too. Looks like we've got a heck of a lot of good things to look forward to! :)

Did Eric mention any plans for the Joule by chance?

It was the same kinda build as the Leafstorm (Ghost G10, Titanium integral liner lock) but a more angular blade shape....

I think this is the knife that I was most impressed with at last years Oregon show. It felt great in my hand and I like smaller knives. I sure hope this one sees the light of day, and soon too. :)

Holy hot ****! You've seriously made my day. So much good info here. Thank you for also taking the time to answer everyone's questions. I have a few if you don't mind :o

- Edit*

Ok, after I typed all my questions I realize I have more than a "few". I hope thats ok!

I didn't see any mention of the Q-Ball on your list. It was shown at last years meet. It is apparently reminiscent of the Dodo. See anything like that?

"New ATR- G10 overlay with holes (Yay!) and a removable Cobra hood- S30V....A winner in my book"

Did they give you any indication of a timeline for delivery? 2 years away, 2 months away, etc?

"Lil Nilakka- Another winner- Imagine a domino (the game counter not the knife!) but with a tiny little microbevel Puuko about the length of my little finger"

Do you recall what material it was made with? Your note says something white?

"Manix 2 with concept Blue Jeans G10....Very nice"

Was this the new blurple S110V manix?

"Ourobourus- Really warmed to this- Junior-looking Comp locker but fit my hand like it was made for me- I'll be having one. Will make a great herb-chopper
"No Name" slimmer version of the above."

Could you elaborate a bit on what you mean slimmer version?

"Native XL- comp locker- lovely sculpted handles."

Is this the Shaman we keep hearing about?

"Szabo flipper in a similar style to the Lightning Strike, but a Ti Handle"

Do you mean that the handle is the same SHAPE as the original Szabo (with lightening CF) but with a titanium handle instead? Same size or smaller? Comp lock? Did they get rid of that self close mechanism? Sorry, been waiting for a new Szabo knife for some time. Very excited about this one even though it might be the ugliest knife ever assembled lol

THANKS!
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390

Thanks so much for the info!!!
My Spydie sense tingles mostly around the Sage, Native, & PM families, so...

Native XL compression lock - check
PM3 - check
Sage 5 compression lock - check

Too bad they didn't have the blurple S110V Native 5 on hand...

The Schempp Persian, is it pretty much identical to this one, minus G10 and + Micarta? Thanks for the rundown
