Re: East Coast seconds sal>?
Being in Boston, Id obviously love to see it happen in Boston or anywhere in New England, but I totally understand that not being convenient for those further south. I'd have no problem driving to New York or Baltimore, but any further south or west I think Id consider flying.
Re: East Coast seconds sal>?
For now it's still a bit too far but it's closer and it's a start.. Next one up a European seconds sale?

Re: East Coast seconds sal>?
I would love to see it. I'm in Virginia so of course I would love it to be here or North Carolina on the I-95 corridor but If it was held in southwest Virginia it would put a lot of other states in close proximity to the event. The town of Bristol or heck, there is the town of Damascus close to that...

Re: East Coast seconds sal>?
An emphatic and resounding YES!!!!
Obviously East Coast refers to NJ right?????

I've always wanted to take part in one of the 2nd's sales, so I'm all for one being less than a flight away.

That is a good point, Roman. :o I guess I was just thinking about a location that would appeal to the largest number of attendees. But you are right: we would have to carry Squeaks and Manbugs if it were held in Chicago.bh49 wrote:Michael,SpyderNut wrote:I know this obviously wouldn't be on the East Coast, but what about Chicago?

I do not have either of these two. Only Jester and Ladybug :)SpyderNut wrote:That is a good point, Roman. :o I guess I was just thinking about a location that would appeal to the largest number of attendees. It's all good, brother. I'll take care of that.bh49 wrote:I do not have either of these two. Same here. I'm in the Metro-Detroit area. I would love to say that I would be able to go, no matter where it might be. For the incredible deals and to participate with other Spydie-nuts in a fun event I would be willing to drive 2-4 hours. Probably longer depending on where it was, and if I could turn it into a little vacation.MattM68 wrote:I'm in Michigan, so depending on where it is, I'm in!

Plus timing seems to be in the winter for these sales. I do snow removal so I never know when I have to work. I have 11 customers that I take care of all on my own. Also in the winter it could be harder to drive somewhere because of snow/ice.
But, yes! It sounds like a great idea. The photos and stories of the recent seconds sale looked like so much fun. Great deals, but it's also an event, or gathering of fellow Spyderco fans. I don't mind the cold, and I love the snow, I would of had no problem camping overnight like they did. Looked like a great time from here. :)

Re: East Coast seconds sal>?
No doubt about it. "East coast" is a bit vague though, but would definitely open up more availability to those who seek it!
Would it also happen in a different season than Golden?
Edit, so now I read 3 votes for Detroit here!

Metro Detroit here as well! I would drive a few hours, but I don't think I'd be able to justify a 10+ hour drive.Shockwave wrote:Same here. I'm in the Metro-Detroit area. I'm from upstate NY, so I am down for one, if course (especially if it is tied to another event, such as a meet-up a la the Amsterdam meet)
Pigeon Forge area of TN is within a days drive of most of the eastern U.S. ... (Also home to Smoky Mountain Knife Works, pretty sweet place to visit for knife knuts).
Been spending about two weeks a year there for the past ten years or so (for work). Plenty of reasonable accommodations, great food, great people.
Plenty of places to host an event (or events!) in the area...
Highly recommend.

Eeeesh, pigeon forge was a place I try to forget. Miles of the ultimate tourist trap tacky I have seen in much of my travels, and horrible traffic that give you more time than desired to stare at the places selling plastic nunchakus.
Maybe the tourism and hustle and bustle there just overwhelmed my friends and I after spending a couple weeks in the wilderness of Smokies and AT to return to putt putt, water slides, and fake costumes...
Please no.

Re: East Coast seconds sal>?
There is definitely a tourist trap aspect of it, but that allows facilities to host events, and the family-oriented theme of the area leads to reasonable accommodations in the area... Plus, of all the "tourist-trap" convention-hosting places, this one has much more variety, and, you don't have to look to hard to find better things to do than look at plastic nun-chuks... Hiking in the Smokys, the museum at SMKW, etc.SpeedHoles wrote:mattman wrote:I'm from upstate NY, so I am down for one, if course (especially if it is tied to another event, such as a meet-up a la the Amsterdam meet)
