Here the knife I got since yesterday.
And I am just completly in love with that baby...
(when you know how much I used to prefer plain edges...)
This is a virus... the Spydervirus.
So I'm looking for info about this SS Rescue. The blade is in ATS-55. (SCREAMING SHARP!!!)
Any hint ?
Thanks,
JM

Come on and Rescue me !
Hi Nemo
Congrats on th new <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>. I have a Rescue Jr. C45OR 79 mm. Like yours, this blade is really sharp too.
If you are a SAS professional (Fire fighter, Paramedic, etc) and plan to use this knife at your work then you might consider that the SS handle might pose problems of slippage if it is oily or wet. You might also consider the fact that sometimes the SS handle might get too hot to hold the knife comfortably with bare hands.
If you're not a SAS professional, then what the heck...get another piece <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Have a great day and enjoy your new <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.
OBTW does this knife have the serrations on the back of the blade near the hump? Just curious.
Kaizer.
A door half open is a door half closed. But a knife half open is a knife fully closed.

Hello everybody,
thanks for the kind words.
There is no serration on the back of the blade.
So this is a rescue Junior with a SS handle.
My first Spyderco with SS handle actually !
As I will use it as an EDC "gentleman" serrated knife, I love this heavy feel.
I'm also discovering full serrated edge.
(after decade of playing with partially serrated knives)
For example : there is no need of sawing motion to cut !
Doh !!!
Cheers

Nemo,
Just read the post on top of this. I have a feeling that your knife is pretty sharp and *therefore* there is no need to "saw".
According to my limited knowledge, A serrated edge is *supposed* to be used in a sawing or slashing motion.
Like i said...it's a very sharp product you got and so your you dont need the slashing motion or, the item you are cutting is pretty flimsy to begin with.
Have a great day
